Boyd is one of the best defensive back prospects across the bay Area and holds offers from Southern Utah, Cal Poly and Portland State, but it would not surprise me if a FBS school offered the talented ’23 prospect. Once Again in the championship game, he did not disappoint and had multiple pass breakups and was very effective in run support. The Pittsburg defense played lights out against a tough and athletic Clayton Valley squad. Manteca is up next for the Pirates.
RB Kai Hall Kai Hall 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Saint Vincent de Paul | 2023 State CA , St. Vincent de Paul HS
Hall capped off his record breaking high school career with one of his best performances and broke the single season rushing record for St. Vincent on Saturday night. Having already broken the Redwood-Empire rushing record the week before, he will go down as one of the best players to ever play in the Redwood Empire. In the NCS final against Clear Lake, he rushed for almost 200 yards on the ground and 5 TD’s. Seeing where he will commit to play football at the next level will be something to keep a close eye on as we near the first NSD. He holds offers from Army, Air Force and Navy.
QB Luke Baker Luke Baker 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB San Ramon Valley | 2024 State CA , San Ramon Valley HS
Baker has been one of the best and most consistent passers across the entire state this season, and took care of business in the D2 championship game against a very well coached Campolindo squad. He passed for 133 yards and 3 scores while managing the game well and taking care of the football. He is a no brainer D-I kid and should have a monster off-season for the potential state champs.
RB Ferrari Miller, McClymonds HS
Miller is part of a strong stable of backs for the Oakland Section champs and did not disappoint against Castlemont. Miller went over the 100 yard mark and was running tough all night in-between the tackles showing contact balance, leg drive and second level speed. With much of the attention on star back Jaivian Thomas Jaivian Thomas 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB McClymonds | 2023 State CA , Miller has been flying under the radar but is one of the best backs in Norcal.
TE Cort Halsey Cort Halsey 6'3" | 205 lbs | TE Menlo School | 2023 State CA , Menlo School
The North Carolina commit had his best performance of the season and went off against Hollister in the CCS D-III championship game. He went for 187 yards receiving, 2 scores and was unblockable on defense with 1 sack, 2 TFL’s and 10+ tackles. Menlo is set to square off with NCS D5 champion San Marin on Saturday night in Novato.
