Jackson Brousseau

UT
|| QB || 6’5 || 225 || Lehi High School || 2023
Brousseau led the Pioneers to a state championship in 2021, and if he wanted to repeat would have to make a big play. It was first and 10 when Brousseau dropped back in the game’s third overtime. Pressure quickly broke through, but Brousseau knew his man was just about to break open, so he rifled the ball perfectly in the corner of the end zone for the state championship-claiming score. The single senior caller has a quick release and outstanding accuracy. He makes tight window throws look route and does a great job maneuvering in the pocket.
Kolton Tanner || WR || 5’10 || 183 || Lehi High School || 2023
Tanner has been making big plays for the Pioneers all season, but his biggest one came in the season’s most significant moment. On the Pioneer’s first play on offense in triple overtime, Tanner appeared to be running an in, but it was actually an In-n-Up. Tanner made a hard cut upfield, created separation with his speed, and caught the game-winning walk-off touchdown. He tracks the ball exceptionally well and excels at getting behind a defense. Tanner has great footwork enabling him to run great routes at every field level. In addition, he does a good job faking like he’s going deep on stop and comeback routes to get short yardage gains.
Jensen Sommerville || OL || 6’7 || 290 || Lehi High School || 2024
The Pioneers left tackle has been providing time for Brousseau to operate in the pocket and pave rushing lanes for Carson Gonzales all season. Sommerville is one of the state’s top tackles in large part due to his flawless technique. The 6’7 lineman takes short and choppy steps in the run game and, in pass pro, easily slides his feet to cut off edge rushers. He can also pull and does a great job obliterating anyone who gets in his path. Sommerville’s impressive wingspan helps him keep defenders at bay, and his initial punch is potent. The athletic tackle also does a good job climbing to the second level to level defenders in the run game.
Jared Esplin || WR || 6’1 || 175 || Timpview High School || 2023
Esplin made plays for the Thunderbirds all game-long fishing with 122 yards and a touchdown. That lone score was particularly impressive, where Esplin made a great adjustment to the ball while in air to moss a defender. The 6’1 receiver has exceptional bounce and athleticism, making him a nightmare on the outside. He’s tough to bring down in the open field and has the speed to leave defensive backs in the dust. In addition, Esplin has good hands and always comes down with tough catches, even while being hit. He played his best game of the season when it mattered most, and while his team came up short, Esplin left it all on the field at Rice Eccles Stadium.
