Top Wins: Burley, Emmett, Capital, Lake City
Bishop Kelly has been absolutely dominant this season reminiscent of some of their best in the past. Defensively they are surrendering only 9 points per game using a strong defensive line, with studs in the backend like Jack Dennis Jack Dennis 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB Bishop Kelly HS | 2023 State ID and Luke Legarreta Luke Legarreta 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Bishop Kelly | 2023 State ID . Offensively they are a ground and pound offense who has averaged 43.5 points per game behind Hadley Smith and Peter Minnaert. This team is so complete on both sides of the football winning this season by an average margin of 35 points. They have faced 5A programs and won, they have played a tough non conference and conference schedule, but they seem to be hitting their stride even with being so dominant. They destroyed Canyon Ridge in the first round and got revenge against a Pocatello team that knocked them out last season. Finally they stopped the top rushing offense in the state in Minico on their way to this state championship game. This might be one of the most complete teams that we have seen in awhile as they dominate every facet of the game. They face their toughest test yet in the defending 4A champs especially having to travel down to Holt Arena which is practically a home game for their opponents.
Skyline
Top Wins: Highland, Blackfoot, Sandpoint
Skyline is the defending champs for a reason and the main reason is this team is battle tested. They have played some of the best competition in the state beating a team like Highland a 5A power house. This team has stuck together through thick and thin as they have dropped some games along the way back to the state championship game but have banded together to reach their ultimate goal. They too have been dominate in the playoffs averaging over 40 points per game in each of their playoff games but it helps to have players like Kenyon Sadiq Kenyon Sadiq 6'3" | 220 lbs | WR Skyline HS | 2023 State ID the Oregon commit, Caden Taggart Caden Taggart 5'9" | 175 lbs | WR Skyline HS | 2023 State ID , Lachlan Haacke and Abrahn Silverio on your team. Defensively they have some name brands as well with Arik Blonquist, Jorge Cortez and Ian Galbreaith. This team is dangerous all over the field. Scoring is not something Skyline has had to worry about this year but they are running up against a different animal in Bishop Kelly but the champs are still the champs until someone says otherwise.
