Top Wins: Teton, Fruitland, South Fremont
The Diggers have been one of the most dominant teams in the state regardless of classification. They have averaged a whopping 50.4 points per game on offense which is by far the tops in 3A. Led by their do-it-all quarterback Daniel Neal with help from a strong backfield of Carson Harris and Josiah Bosco. This team has beat up everyone in the 3A ranks along with being the defending state champs. The Diggers have been one of the best teams in the state of Idaho year in and year out; as you can see the are an offensive juggernaut but their defense does not get enough credit. They have talent galore on the defensive side of the ball especially with players like Sam Gonzalez, Ty Hirrlinger and Kaden Summers running around making plays. Not only has this team beaten up everyone in Idaho but they also put two tough out of state teams on their schedule with the closest point game being a 19 point victory. This team is firing on all cylinders and is ready to defend its title against a familiar foe.
Homedale Trojans
Top Wins: Weiser, Fruitland, McCall-Donnelly
The Trojans of Homedale are back in the big game agaisnt a team that has frankly been their kryptonite in the past couple of years. Homedale is a fantastic team though and has one loss on the season to 4A Sandpoint which points to a team not afraid to play anyone. Homedale is explosive on offense their is no doubt about that especially when you have a quarterback like Jaxon Dines. The senior has been solid all year for the Trojans. It helps when you have a host of stars around you though with players like running back Trenton Fisher, and a pair of outstanding wide receivers like Mason Strong Mason Strong 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Homedale HS | 2023 State ID and Danny Lomeli. Defensively the front of Homedale is tough to handle with Omar Rios and Chase Cooper manning the line. Both are right at the top of the team in tackles and are tied for the top of the team in sacks. Luke Henry patrols the backend and leads the team in interceptions on the season. This team has players with brand names but they always seem to win games as a team. Leadership is strong with this group but the love they have for one another seems to always shine through. Will they be able to get over a team that has ruined their season this time around, well they have a great shot.
