Tyshun Willis
Tyshun Willis
This young fellow is a force to be reckoned with on the D-Line. He has been incredibly disruptive in both the run and pass game as a sophomore which is indicative of what he can do in the next few years. Throughout his Sophomore season Willis put up over 18 sacks which is 2 more than what the Cleveland Brown’s Myles Garrett finished with in 2021. Tyshun has displayed incredible body control with explosive hands and feet in order to get to the QB. He already has a great size to him and will continue to be a foundational athlete for the Falcons for the next few years. When it comes time for him to graduate Tyshun Willis will certainly attract the attention of some notable programs. Due to his performances this year Tyshun is selected as 2A Top 3 Sack Monsters.
Rodney Stewart
Rodney Stewart
Rodney Stewart is a strong athlete with elite talent. Stewart’s work ethic is evident with every snap. He fights through combo blocks, has a good assortment of pass rush moves and is efficient at getting to the Quarterback. He has similar play styles as Mississippi State’s #5 Randy Charlton. Rodney is extremely difficult to block as he made his way past the offensive line for 14.5 sacks this season. This stat line is quite reassuring as last year he had a career high of 15 sacks showing that this was not just a one time occurrence but a regular performance to expect from him. Because of this Rodney Stewart would be a great addition to many local colligiate programs and would be a valuable plug and play athlete. Because of Rodney’s exceptional season racking up sacks he is considered to be one of 2A’s Top 3 Sack Monsters.
Taahir Banks
Taahir Banks
Taahir is a unique addition to this list as it generally plays the linebacker positions. Getting multiple sacks as a linebacker can be quite rare depending on the defensive scheme but nevertheless Banks consistently found a way to make an impact and collect 7 sacks for the year. Taahir is only 3 sacks behind Alabama’s linebacker #31 Will Anderson Junior which says a lot about how well Banks can play the position. From what I can tell Taahir Banks has the potential to play in multiple positions and still perform well. From diagnosing plays, dropping into coverage and stopping the run all these abilities are skills that can be utilized at the next level. Taahir’s ceiling seems quite high and would certainly be effective on a JUCO roster come next season. He has done well this season which has earned him 2A’s Top 3 Sack Monsters.
