Eduwa Okundaye – 2024 EDGE – 6’3″/225 – Katy, TX (Obra D. Tompkins)

JR Year Stats – 41-Tackles, 9-TFLs, 4-Sacks and 2- FR
Okundaye plays defensive end in Tompkins 3-man front and brings great length on his limbs. Despite being undersized at the position in a 3-man front, he flashes the ability stack and shed when setting the edge vs bigger offensive lineman in the run game but also shows some hand usage as a pass rusher. Like the physicality he flashes at the point of attack. However, it’s the flexibility and ability to bend the corner that he displays that really caught my eye mixed with the speed he brings off the edge. Just check the tweet below to get a sense of what I mean to see how low he gets and how quickly he is able to flatten out his angle to the QB. He has plenty of room to put weight on his frame so will be interested to see how he fills out going into his SR year next year. Would like to see some clips of him as a stand up OLB rushing off the edge to see the twitch/quickness/explosion he brings off the ball since you don’t get to really see that with the technique he plays mixed with his stance. Either way, with the traits he displays, this is one to definitely keep your eye on moving forward.
Omar Khan – 2024 DT/DE – 6’5″/270 – Cypress, TX (Bridgeland)
Twitter: @OmarKhan2024
JR Season Stats: N/A
The frame and length Khan possesses immediately stood out to me when I cut on his film. Will be interested to see after another off-season where he stands weight wise as he has the frame to be 300+ pounds with ease with how he carries his weight and the room there to pack it on. Playing on the interior of the Bridgeland DL at the 2, 2i and 3T, he shows twitchy and explosive athleticism/movement. Flashes advanced hand usage at times showing a stab + swim on one clip before going to make the tackle and a shrug + rip on another. Khan is strong at the POA showing he can stand up to double teams and flashes impressive technique to get skinny/contort to help split doubles as well. Would like to see him work on keeping his pad level down as he does play high. Khan is also a wrestler which can obviously play huge dividends in regard to development with how it translates to the trenches He also brings position/scheme versatility with his frame + length to play in a 4-3 or 3-4. He is one to keep your eye on in the off-season, especially if he can get out to camps, would expect to see his recruitment really pick up.
Cody Ford – 2024 EDGE/DE – 6’3″/230 – Richmond, TX (George Ranch HS)
Twitter: @Codyford09
JR Year Stats – 66-Tackles, 13-TFLs, 4-Sacks and 46-QB Pressures
The George Ranch high school edge is one I have been a fan of for a while now with what he flashes on film. Love the consistent, violent/heavy hand usage you see from him playing inside and outside on their defensive front. Shows some serious pop in those mitts of his and see him tossing OL around. It’s obvious he brings a consistent rush plan with what he flashes as a pass rusher but is just as effective vs the run with his strength & power he displays at the point of attack. His explosiveness off the ball + that hand usage allows him to win quickly as a pass rusher which his 46-QB pressures speaks too. On top of that though, Ford brings a motor that runs hot along with impressive pursuit speed as you see in the tweet below where he runs down a RB coming from across the field. That speed also shows up when pursuing from the backside. Outside of football, he is also a player on the baseball diamond where he plays in the outfield for his squad. At 6’3″/230, that’s impressive when you consider the speed and range you need to play in the outfield. Keep your eyes on this one as he is one that could start to see offers come soon.
