Continue ReadingEntering into week 9 of this high school football season, it can be seen to be very impressive when looking at each player’s achievements so far this year. To this point, the players who have made this list have already seen a high volume of production yards on the ground, and with scoring. Because of this, they have positioned themselves well to finish strong, and remain on this list with the potential to be one of the top 5 rushers in the state of GA this season.
Jayden Mason- Calvary Christian
In the span of 8 games, Jayden Mason has put himself in position to lead the pack by a large margin of rushing yards. At this point of the season, he has racked up 2018 yards, and has a current average of 252 yards per game. With that, he also averages around 8.85 yards per carry on 228 rushing attempts this year. With this, he has also scored 29 TD’s for his team, proving that a RB can carry a team on his back. Moving forward, we would like to see him progress at this rate, but to take better care of the football as well.
Nick Woodford- Northeast
While Mason has had a large amount of success and has separated himself from the pack, players like Wooford, and other prospects on this list are in a bit of a closer race with each other. Currently Woodford has rushed for a total of 1,619 yards, and has an average of 231 rushing yards a game over a 7 game span. To add to this, he also averages around 10 yards per carry on 159 attempts, and has seen a rushing long of 90 yards on 1 carry. With this, he has also racked up 25 TD’s for his team, and is looking to add more as the weeks go by.

Brown, who is one of the most productive, and talented backs in the state, is not far off from Woodford on this list, as he currently has a total of 1,601 yards on the ground, and an average of 228 yards per game. With this, in the span of 7 games, he has also ran for 18 TD’s, and has seen a TD long of 88 yards. Most impressively, he has taken good care of the football, as he has only put the ball on the ground once, and has been running with an average of 11 yards per carry, shouldering a great load for his team.
Tyson Greenwade- Dalton
Just like Brown, Greenwade has also appeared in 7 games this season, and during those 7 games, he has been a workhorse for his team. In this time frame, he has put up 1,590 yards, and currently averages around 227 yards a game, with an additional average of 9.88 yards per carry. On 161 carries, Greenwade has also proven that he can take the ball the distance, or run for quick pops of yards. Either way, his production has been impressive, and we fully expect him to continue to show out for his team.
Malachi Hosley

Outside of Mason, Hosley is the only other player on this list to have already played 8 games of football this season. In his 8 games, he is just a little bit further along then players who did not make this weeks list, as he sits at 1,488 yards at this point of time. With this, Hosley also has an average of 186 yards a game, and 9 yards a carry, which are very impressive numbers. Along with these stats, it is also evident that he is a key contributor to his team, as he has already rushed for 18 TD’s in 8 games, and as his season closes out, we don’t doubt that he will put up more.
