Regardless, we recognize that there is rich talent in the state, and that this talent best sometimes shines through statistics. Below, we have taken some time to list some of the top passing leaders in the state after 7 weeks. We doubt you will be disappointed.
AJ Sirianni- Community School of Davidson
At the top of the list in passing so far this season is AJ Sirianni. Ridiculously, Sirianni, after just 6 games, leads the state in passing yards by a huge margin. At this point of time, Sirianni currently sits as the state’s leading passer with a total of 2,119 yards, and an average of almost 400 yards a game. To be specific, Sirianni has passed for a total of 353.2 yards, and has a completion percentage of 64%. With this, he has also thrown 33 TD’s, to only 9 interceptions. Because his stats are so crazy, we fully expect him to continue to add on to his current totals, and to blow the rest of his competition out of the water, just as he has already done with his team’s 5-1 record.
Mason Fortune

– Millbrook
Fortune, who is still not getting the attention he deserves, has come in 2nd place on our state rushing leaders list this time around. This comes with his total of 1,873 yards in the air, and average of 312 yards per game. With this, it should also be noted that Fortune has done so while also passing for 21 TD’s, and just 3 interceptions. In the process, Milbrook has also achieved a 6-0 record, which is easy to expect when a QB takes care of the ball as well as Fortune does. Moving forward, we would like to see him continue to improve in his overall mechanics, timing, and the way he sees the field, and goes through his progressions.
Folger Boaz

East Surry | 2023
State
NC
– East Surry
Out of this entire list, Boaz happens to be the QB who has shown out the most, with one of the best completion percentages over the span of 7 games. To this point of the season, Boaz has been playing at a 70% completion percentage, which comes from his 144 completions, out of 204 attempts. In addition to this, he has also thrown for 30 TD’s, and only 4 interceptions. These passes have all come with a very high amount of total yards thrown to this point of the year. In total, Boaz has already passed for 1,833 yards, and has led his team to a 7-0 record, in which 3 games have been regional games. Expect him to continue to soar to new heights as the season goes by.
Javier Rice- ACA
Rice, who has only played in 6 games, has put himself in position to compete at a very high rate against some of the other top passers in the state of North Carolina. To this point, Rice has thrown for 1,810 yards, and has averaged around 301.7 yards a game. With this, impressively enough, he has also completed 131 passes this season. Unfortunately though, these completions come at a 59% completion percentage, along with the fact that he has also thrown 11 interceptions, to his 20 TD’s. As the season goes by, we would like to see him continue to put up great numbers, but to do so more effectively.

, out of Shelby High, has already begun to put up a high enough amount of passing yards, allowing him to be able to compete with some of the other elite passers in the state. Lee, who has passed for 1,797 yards in just 7 games, has also done so at a rate that has allowed him a completion percentage of 67%. This wonderful number also comes with an average of 256.7 yards a game, and only 5 interceptions on the season. With this, it should also be noted that Lee has completed 112 of his 167 passes, and has thrown for 28 TD’s, which is an incredibly high volume for this point of the season. Look for him to continue to add to his stats, and to compete for his place on this list as the weeks go by.
