Below, just as we have the past few weeks, we have taken some time to recognize some of the more skilled, and consistent kickers in the state, as they have put up a high volume of points for their team’s, and have stood as some of the top scorers for each of their teams. As you take some time to read up on each of these prospects, we also encourage checking their tape out, as things such as their leg strength, timing, arc, and follow through can all be seen on film.

– Mill Creek
Entering into the 8th week of high school football, Ulrich has continued to shine as one of the best kickers in the state. Currently, he leads the pack after having played just 6 games, and has a total of 48 points on the board. This comes with an average of 8 points a game, 30 PAT’s, and 6 Field Goals. As the season continues to progress, look for him to continue to stand out even more from week to week.
Landon Vickers- Cairo
Vickers, who has played 1 more game than everyone else on this list, has found himself with an average of 6.7 points a game, and a total of 47 points to this point of the season. After each of the 7 games, he has proven to be a huge asset for his team, as he has already knocked down 8 field goals, and has done so from various placements on the field. This is not only a reflection of his accuracy, but his ability to perform in clutch moments. Vickers has also hit 23 PAT’s, and we expect him to continue to have a great season as the weeks go by, as he continues to pour on more points, as a consistent key to his team’s success.
Mack Mikko- Heritage
Mikko and the Heritage Hawks are already off to a great start this season, and this is evident by the 6-0 record in which they have already achieved. In these 6 wins, their high flying offense has been consistent in putting up points, which has put Mikko in position to make 35 PAT’s, while also being in position to make 3 field goals as well. Mikko’s efforts have provided his team with 44 points so far, and the depth, and strength of his kicking is easy to see. Going into the next few weeks, it will be interesting to see if he can keep it up at this rate, and if he can continue to be one of the top 3 kickers in the state when it is all said and done.
Bowen Shirley- Lanier Christian Academy
So far this season, Shirley has been performing at a very successful rate for his team. In doing so, he has been able to play his part in his team’s current 5-1 record. To this point of the season, he has scored 44 points, just like Mikko, and has an average of 7.3 points a game. With this, it should also be noted that each of these points came from PAT attempts, rather than PAT’s, and Field Goals. Moving forward, we would like to see Shirley perform in a more well rounded fashion, proving that he can make deep kicks, and plays for his team in situations in which his number may be called on.
Hudson Hanges- Woodward Academy
Ater just 6 games, Hanges has put himself in position to be on this list entering into week 8. How long he is able to maintain his rank is up to his performance. Regardless, he beat out the next person on this list by 1 point, and has currently racked up a total of 43 points for his team. Impressively, after each of his games, he has come away with an average of 7.2 points a game. In addition to this, it should also be noted that he is a very consistent, and well rounded player. His leg strength and accuracy have been shown by his ability to his 25 PAT’s, along with 6 field goals. This in itself proves his ability to play reliable football from a kicker position. Look for his team to continue to lean on him entering into the rest of the season.
