Rhode Island maybe a smaller state but it surely does have a High School Football fan base following with hidden football talents around the state. This also includes college coaches taking recent notice and traveling there during the recruiting evaluation process. Here are the Top Performances we were given notice about after Week 5 play.
Dean is no stranger to us and had himself another great weekend to earn another week of recognition. Varrecchione came up with a big performance completing 18 of 29 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns to lead his team to victory. He is a projected D1 recruit and ranked 12th in the Prep Redzone New England region. His recent hudl film is not available at the time of this publication. Jr Film below.
Highlights
The All-State tight end caught five passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns to lead his team to victory after he being out on injury in weeks prior. He has very good speed after the catch showing the ability to excel quickly into full speed. He also is a great track star being a state champ HJ, 4×200 and All State hurdler. He brings a lot of quickness to the table along with secure hands.
Highlights
The senior wide receiver caught ten passes for 228 yards and four touchdowns. He also compiled 10 tackles and an interception on the defensive side. An eye opening game performances that will boost his recruiting stock after the season. His quickness is noticeable on film. He high tops the ball when thrown to him with secure hands. A slippery runner that can make defenders miss in open field.
Highlights
“ Jelon King Jelon King 6’4″ | 180 lbs | QB Mt. Pleasant H.S. RI. | 2023 New E ” completed 22 of 34 passes for 426 yards and six touchdowns. It is recorded as one of the best single-game totals in the state this fall. He is also arguably the best producing qb in the state this fall thus far. He is 6’4” . His coach has confirmed, “can flick it 60 yards fading off platform”. He can also rifle it when needed or use his speed and feet for big gains. A pass heavy dual threat that can slice through a defense.
Highlights
The junior completed 13 of 21 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns in to lead his team to a 34-24 win. His recent Hudl film is not available at the time of this publication.
