I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
Ethan Stueckle
Ethan Stueckle
Ethan and the whole Lakeside HS offensive line has been stellar all year long, allowing their quarterback Kole Hunsaker have all the time he needs. Stueckle has great feet, keeping them moving at all times and staying in front of the defensive lineman with ease. His strength is something that can be seen by just watching film, as he finishes blocks all game with pancakes. In the run game, he’s able to pull and be a lead blocker using his athleticism to help him out.
Lucas is going to be a matchup nightmare for any defensive lineman, given his size alone standing at 6’7″. Lucas is extremely athletic for his size, being able to get ahead of his running back for blocks. He’s very strong, pushing over many defensive players with ease all night. His hand placement was on point during his week 4 game against Stanwood, as well as his foot movement. He’s going to keep improving week by week and could be a top offensive lineman next season.
Bennett Pittman
Bennett Pittman
I’ve featured a couple Capital HS athletes throughout this series, but Bennett will be the second offensive lineman from the team mentioned. The other being Joe Bayartogtokh Joe Bayartogtokh 6’2″ | 270 lbs | OL Capital | 2023 WA , who recently went down with a serious injury. I wish Joe the quickest and healthiest recovery possible. The rest of the offensive line will have to pick up the slack as a team, and that’s exactly what Pittman and company did. Pittman, a sophomore, was excellent finishing blocks all the way through getting many pancakes throughout the night. He drives his feet well too, keeping his balance while protecting his quarterback. He’s going to be another player to watch through the years.
Emerald-Ridge is having a great start to their season this year and that’s a big part due to the offensive line. They have been protecting quarterback Jake Schakel Jake Schakel 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA very well. Ryan, a junior, holds up the center position on the line and does so very well. If he finishes one block, he looks around right away to help out a teammate to keep his quarterback protected. He moves his feet as good as any 2024 offensive lineman I’ve seen. He makes holes in the run game effectively as well, always keeping the defensive lineman in front of him.
Aidan Anderson
Aidan Anderson
Here’s an offensive lineman I really enjoy watching. Aidan has worked extremely hard off the field to improve and it’s paying off for him. Standing at 6’4″, he’s VERY agile and athletic. He’s effective in both the pass and run game, always contributing in a positive way. Anderson is STRONG. Against Peninsula HS, there was multiple times where he would casually throw someone to the side and go block the next player. This senior has a phenomenal motor.
