We are going to take a look at some 2023 prospects that are flying under the radar. Get ready to see some names you know and a few you should already know.
Jaylin McKinney Jaylin McKinney 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Pulaski Academy
The Pulaski Academy wide receiver is ranked 62nd nationally in receiving yardage. However, he is a wide receiver that has continued to fly under the radar. McKinney does an excellent job of creating separation using his smooth route running and quickness. He is a playmaker at the wide receiver spot and is difficult to bring down when he gets into the open field. McKinney has the talent to play on Saturdays in the future and the team that lands him gets a dangerous wide receiver to add to the offense.
Donnie Cheers Donnie Cheers 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Marion | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Marion
The wide receiver position is well represented in the class of 2023. Marion wide receiver Donnie Cheers Donnie Cheers 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Marion | 2023 State AR is another talented prospect that is lurking under the radar. Up to this point in the season, Cheers has hauled in 30 receptions for 685 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions. Cheers is a wide receiver that does a great job of using his athleticism to get open. He is a dangerous target to attempt to contain in the red zone. Cheers is another prospect that should be getting the attention of scouts this season.
Cedric Hawkins Cedric Hawkins 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Stuttgart | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Stuttgart
Hawkins is another 2023 prospect that is putting together an impressive 2022 football season. With a number of talented running backs in the class of 2023, Hawkins has put together another strong season. Hawkins has displayed an ability to run the ball between the tackles but also an ability to catch the ball on pass routes. He is a prospect that scouts should be taking a long look at. The versatility he has is too strong to pass up.
Zamarion Spencer-Athlete-West Helena
Spencer has tremendous versatility on both sides of the ball. He does an impressive job lurking in the secondary on the defensive side of the ball. Meanwhile, he is extremely efficient at running the offense and completing drives. Spencer is a prospect that has had an impressive 2022 football season and is certainly worth a long look from scouts. He is a talented prospect and one to keep an eye on over the next few weeks.
Wade Simpson Wade Simpson 6'0" | 185 lbs | LB Conway | 2023 State AR -Linebacker-Conway
The Conway linebacker is always around the football. Simpson does a fantastic job of getting to the ball carrier. He is able to defeat blocks and get into the opposing offensive backfield. He is a prospect that has flown under the radar, but he is also a prospect that is in on every tackle when you turn on the game film. It will be interesting to see how deep in the playoffs the Wampus Cats go and keep an eye on Simpson he is a talented linebacker with the talent to play on Saturdays.
