Home to multiple populated towns and the big city of Atlanta, Fulton County is one of the most talented areas across the country in terms of football talent. Some of the top running backs in the state are playing in Fulton County and Prep Redzone has the latest on the county’s most productive backs.
One of the more dominant backs across the country, the Purdue commitment from Atlanta was one of the state’s leading rushers last season and on his way to an incredible senior season as well this fall. A strong back with speed and burst, it’s hard to find a weakness in Brown’s game. He runs hard, changes directions well, runs behind his pads, and can break tackles with both his upper body and around his legs. He’s a balanced, patient runner and was reliable as it gets across Georgia. Leading South Atlanta to an undefeated 6-0 record, Brown has been unstoppable on the ground this fall, rushing for 1,381 yards on 113 carries for an average of 12.2 yards per carry and an impressive 230 yards per game. He’s a big-play waiting to happen and has rushed for 15 touchdowns already this fall. He’s had rushing games of 324 yards, 309 yards, and 252 yards so far this season, proving why he’s one of the best backs in the state.
Christian Isibor – Cambridge
In Alpharetta is where you’ll find a breakout Fulton County running back in Cambridge (GA) standout, Christian Isibor. Playing for Bears program on the rise, Isibor comes to play every Friday night and is having a true breakout 2022 season. The 5-foot-8 165-pounder has breakaway speed and has natural running instincts. He does a good job of seeing the field, hiding behind his blockers, and burst when he sees an opening. He also shows good footwork and the ability to make defenders miss down the field. Once he gets into the open field, he’s tough to corral for opposing defenses. He’s rushed for 100 yards in every game but two this year, totaling 831 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns so far this season. He’s averaging 7.2 yards per carry and just under 120 rushing yards per game. He’s having an excellent senior season and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
Nykahi Davenport – Roswell
One of the top 2024 backs in Fulton County, Davenport has become one of the leading rushers not only in 6A, but in the entire region so far this fall. An athletic back, Davenport has helped carry the Hornet offense this season on the ground and has done a consistent job each Friday night. Trough his first six games, the 5-foot-11 180-pounder has rushed for over 100 yards in each one this season. Davenport went for 127 yards against Milton, 114 yards against Marietta, 107 against Centennial, and 144 against Denmark. He’s run against some really tough, talented defenses in multiple classifications this year and has made it look easy at times. He’s a tough tackle-breaking back, but his dependability has been impressive as well. He looks like he can play at the next level and the way he’s playing, the offers are certainly to come at some point. In total, Davenport has rushed for 801 yards and seven touchdowns so far as a junior for Roswell.
Jai’den Thomas – Westlake
An athletic back and one of the more versatile weapons in Atlanta, Thomas plays for an outstanding Westlake team and is off to a tremendous senior season. A shift back who can make defenders miss, Thomas is dangerous with the ball in his hands and the Lions are doing their best to get him involved every week. He’s a tough runner with good vision and burst, so he can hurt defenses in a number of different ways. He’s rushed 130 times this season for 764 yards and 8 touchdowns, averaging 5.9 yards per carry and 109 yards per game. He’s also caught 14 passes for 222 yards and three more scores.
