However, Kinkaid’s first-string and second-string quarterbacks aren’t at their full capacity because they have been injured the entire season. Without any quarterback leading the team Kinkaid’s offense couldn’t get into the groove they needed. All they could do is his nationally ranked athlete Micah Bell Micah Bell 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB The Kinkaid | 2023 State TX run shotgun as quarterback every play which Episcopal got accustomed to stopping it.
By halftime the score was 21-0 by the fourth quarter it looked like a complete victory for Episcopal, but Episcopal got a little too comfortable. After a series of mistakes and fumbles from Episcopal Kinkaid was able to recover and score two touchdowns catching up to Episcopal and even bringing the game down to the wire. It was an exciting and lively stadium seeing Kinkaid’s unbelievable comeback. However, before the last play, Kinkaid’s star athlete Micah Bell Micah Bell 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB The Kinkaid | 2023 State TX got hurt and had to put in their second-string injured quarterback and the last play was a pass that Episcopal intercepted in Kinkaid’s end-zone. The final score was 21-15 with Episcopal maintaining their lead and coming out with the win. In this article, I’ll be discussing standouts from both The Episcopal Knights and The Kinkaid Falcons.
Episcopal Knights
#1 Lane Linebarger Sr WR 5’10 165 lbs
Lane Linebarger is a fast and reliable wide receiver. Lane was one of the main receivers catching the ball. Lane could hardly be covered by any of Kinkaid’s cornerbacks. Lane was best utilized during the 1st half where he was unbeatable. Lane wrapped up the night with one touchdown
#65 Makai Wong Sr RG, LG 6’4 255 lbs
Makai Wong is a sturdy offensive guard. The majority of Episcopal’s runs ran in the direction that Makai was on. Makai was constantly switching from left guard to right guard throughout the game. No matter which side Makai was on he maul down any defenders in his way providing great protection. Makai is also a college prospect being looked at by a good amount of colleges, but one offer from Trinity University.
Kinkaid Falcons
#23 Micah Bell Micah Bell 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB The Kinkaid | 2023 State TX Sr Ath 5’11 170 lbs
Micah Bell Micah Bell 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB The Kinkaid | 2023 State TX is the backbone and foundation for Kinkaid. Micah is ranked #27 in the state and #113 in the nation for a reason. Micah is just a pure athlete he plays on both sides of the ball on offense as a running back and quarterback and on defense as a cornerback and safety. Micah is strong, fast, quick, and a very hard hitter. Micah was able to seamlessly transition between positions playing aggressively on both offense and defense. Micah knew he needed to take advantage of Episcopal’s mistakes and Micah capitalized on them. By causing two of the fumbles on defense and then scoring both the touchdowns to catch up to Episcopal. However, playing the full game on both sides of the ball can wear anyone down and in the last 20 seconds of the game, Micah went down. Micah fought hard as he could ending the game with 2 touchdowns and scoring a two-point conversion.
