Let’s take a look at the prospects that lit up the Friday night skies this week in the Natural State.
Connor Baker Connor Baker 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB Pocahontas | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-Pocahontas-2023
The Pocahontas signal caller was all over the field against Westside. Baker was perfect through the air, going 4-4 for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, on the ground he exploded for 225 yards and four touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, Baker racked up seven tackles on the night. Pocahontas is setting the stage for a strong playoff run and is a team to watch out for over the next few weeks.
Skylar Purifoy Skylar Purifoy 6'5" | 215 lbs | TE Hot Springs Lakeside | 2024 State AR -Tight End-Hot Springs Lakeside-2024
Skylar Purifoy Skylar Purifoy 6'5" | 215 lbs | TE Hot Springs Lakeside | 2024 State AR had an extremely productive night against De Queen on Friday night. The Hot Springs Lakeside tight end hauled in four receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Purifoy uses his athletic ability well to create separation. He does an impressive job of high pointing the football and is a major threat in the red zone. Purifoy has the potential to be a major target over the next year his size, blocking ability, and the ability to catch the ball will make him a player to watch.
Donovan Whitten Donovan Whitten 6'3" | 220 lbs | QB Arkadelphia | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-Arkadelphia-2023
Whitten is a prospect that has flown under the radar all season. However, he makes plays all over the field and has the arm strength to play on Saturdays in the future. Whitten had another strong outing on Friday night. He was 20-of-33 for 200 yards and five touchdowns through the air. Meanwhile, Whitten rushed for 32 yards and one touchdown on Friday night as well.
Grayson Wilson Grayson Wilson 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Central Arkansas Christian | 2025 State AR -Quarterback-Central Arkansas Christian-2025
One signal caller to watch out for over the next two seasons is Grayson Wilson Grayson Wilson 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Central Arkansas Christian | 2025 State AR . Wilson put his tremendous accuracy on display on Friday night. He was 11-of-16 for 129 yards and two touchdowns. However, he also rushed for five carries for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Watch out for Wilson over the next couple of seasons, he has the potential to see action on Saturdays in the future.
Josh Ficklin Josh Ficklin 5'10" | 195 lbs | RB Bentonville | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Bentonville-2023
The Bentonville running back is having another strong season in 2022. Against Rogers on Friday, Ficklin had 12 carries for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Ficklin does a great job of picking his rushing lanes and is even more impressive job setting up his blocks. He is setting the stage to close out his high school career in impressive fashion. Bentonville is a team to watch out for in the playoffs this season.
Jason Sullivan Jason Sullivan 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Carlisle | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Carlisle-2023
The Carlisle running back has been on a roll this season. Sullivan had another strong night on Friday night. He rushed 14 times for 273 yards and five touchdowns. Sullivan is a running back to pay attention to and is a prospect that should be attracting the attention of scouts. Sullivan is another prospect that has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.
Sloan Perrin Sloan Perrin 5'11" | QB Nashville | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-Nashville-2023
The Scrappers have been on a roll the past few weeks. Quarterback Sloan Perrin Sloan Perrin 5'11" | QB Nashville | 2023 State AR has been hurting teams with both his arm and his legs this season. Perrin was 10-of-13 for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Perrin tacked on one touchdown on the ground for the Scrappers on Friday night. Nashville is a team with the potential to have a deep playoff run this season.
Carter Nye Carter Nye 6'1" | QB Bentonville | 2024 State AR -Quarterback-Bentonville-2024
Carter Nye Carter Nye 6'1" | QB Bentonville | 2024 State AR is having a big season for the Bentonville Tigers this season. Bentonville is a team with the potential to play in Little Rock if the season finishes strong for the Tigers. On Friday night, Nye was 17-of-20 for 280 yards and four touchdowns for the Tigers on Friday night. Nye is a prospect to keep an eye on over the next few years.
Grant Karnes Grant Karnes 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Greenwood | 2025 State AR -Wide Receiver-Greenwood-2025
One of the most talented wide receivers in the state had another big night for the Bulldogs. On Friday night, Karnes hauled 11 receptions for 141 yards and three touchdowns against the Russellville. The Greenwood wide receiver is setting the stage for several big seasons over the next couple of seasons. Watch for Greenwood, the 6-A is going to be an extremely competitive playoff this season.
Preston Davis Preston Davis 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Little Rock Christian | 2024 State AR -Linebacker-Little Rock Christian-2024
Davis is a linebacker that is all over the field for the Little Rock Christian Warriors. He had another impressive night against the Van Buren Pointers on Friday. Davis racked up 10 tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss on the night. Davis is a prospect to keep an eye on over the next year. He has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future.
Hunter Houston Hunter Houston 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Greenwood | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-Greenwood-2023
The Greenwood Bulldogs are clicking on all cylinders to close out the 2022 football season. On Friday night, Houston was 34-of-48 for 416 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Meanwhile. Houston tacked on two touchdowns on the ground. Houston is a prosect to watch out for over the next few weeks. The Bulldogs have the potential to play in Little Rock to close out the season.
