6. Steel Valley (5-0)
Mid-Season Standout
So much fun watching one of the best two-way players in the state exemplify both elite DB play and elite athleticism on offense, week after week. Halfway through the season, Brookins has been a force at Safety. Yes, the kid has shown off his athleticism and it’s fun to watch him mess with kids at quarterback, but I can’t help but see flashes of a future star at safety at Kent State University. Some of the hits Brookins has put on kids so far are downright jaw-dropping. All of this without mentioning his skills in pass coverage from any DB position. Cruce acts as the motor that drives Steel Valley.
Highlights
7. Berlin Brothersvalley (6-0)
Mid-Season Standout
Pace Prosser
Pace Prosser
A new prospect to the site, Pace Prosser is the man under center leading Berlin BV to a 6-0 record. 62% completion percentage through five games, throwing for just under 700 yards and 8 touchdowns through the air. Prosser acts as a dual-threat quarterback, rushing for over 250 yards and adding five scores to his eight through the air. Prosser is an intriguing prospect, at least through a quarterback lens. Prosser has solid size for the position, yet a ton of work needs to be done from a footwork/pocket standpoint. The kid is targeting all three levels of the field well, I’d love to dissect more tape to understand this kid a bit more. Fun tape to watch, hope he can continue to lead BB in the right direction.
8. Bedford (5-1)
Mid-Season Standout
ethan weber
ethan weber
Weber made his first appearance on the site just weeks ago. He’s back, after leading Bedford to a 5-1 record, while also rushing for 206 yards and three scores against Penn Cambria this past weekend. Weber is a game or two away from eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark, proving to doubters that he is a top athlete in Class 2A. I emphasize athlete, as Weber can provide great defensive reps, as we mentioned in previous posts. Fun to see if he becomes a bigger factor in the passing game.
9. Beaver Falls (5-1)
Mid-Season Standout
Sy’Mauri McCoy
Sy’Mauri McCoy
I’m learning more and more about some of the talent out of Beaver Falls. There are names like former Blackhawk standout DiNari Harris DiNari Harris 5’9″ | 145 lbs | DB Blackhawk | 2024 State PA , as well as new standouts to my radar like Datalion Beuford and Connor Paolucci. I’m most intrigued by 6’4, two-way trench player Sy’Mauri McCoy. I’m liking his offensive line reps. Ton of anger and aggression in his reps, and the kid plays with a purpose. He might serve the next level in the interior rather than at tackle or end spots. His build could lead him there, right now, his power might be best suited at guard or IDL. Fun player that I can’t wait to rank.
10. Dunmore (5-1)
Mid-Season Standout
Danny Pigga
Danny Pigga
Danny Pigga, a junior out of Dunmore is impressing me. Six feet tall, capable of playing corner, and running back, but might be most comfortable at wideout. Solid offensive production through four games, accumulating a total of 280+ scrimmage yards, and scoring three touchdowns as well. Pigga’s tape against Riverside was a good one to watch, it gives you an idea of the full spectrum he brings to the table. 200+ scrimmage yards, all in under ten touches, three touchdowns. The stats don’t show what he’s done at corner, or on special teams either. Pigga has played a huge role in Dunmore’s early success in 2022.
