Prep Redzone takes a look…
Kam Davis – Dougherty
Known as one of the top running backs prospects in Georgia for the 2024 class, Davis is a tough runner with plenty of power who knows how to break tackles. A Florida State commitment, Davis does a lot more than simply run the football. The tremendous South Georgia athlete from Albany plays quarterback for Dougherty and knows how to make plays through the air as well. An outstanding baseball player as well, Davis has plenty of arm talent and has shown it off throughout his junior season this fall. Davis has thrown for an impressive 1,863 yards on 113/186 passing and 16 touchdowns this year. For a next-level running back, those are some really impressive numbers. The four-star prospect still has no problem running through defense, but a little more than half-way through the season, Davis is the state’s leading passer in 3A right now, throwing for an average of 232 yards per game.
Carlos Keverene Singleton – Liberty County
A small-town quarterback on the rise, Singleton has been a dependable quarterback for Liberty County this fall and one of the leading passers in 3A so far mid-way through the season. He’s still working on his accuracy, completing 60% of his passes, but the junior should improve there the more he plays. What we know is that he has a talented arm, throwing for 217 yards per game so far this season. He’s thrown for 1,521 yards so far with 11 touchdowns. He’s thrown for at least 200 yards in each game but two, and those two games he threw for 188 and 195 yards. He can win games throwing the ball and he’s only going to improve with each game. He’s an underrated quarterback in South Georgia to keep an eye on.
Geimere Latimer Geimere Latimer 5'10" | 175 lbs | QB Sandy Creek | 2023 State GA – Sandy Creek
One of the better athletic quarterbacks in the Atlanta area, Latimer is a dual-threat quarterback who has led Sandy Creek to an impressive 7-1 record so far as a senior. The multi-year starter has always been a fantastic runner, but has a strong arm as well. His accuracy has dipped a little from last year, but he still knows how to make big plays with his arm, and he’s currently one of the leading passers in the 3A classification. The 5-foot-9 175-pounder has thrown for 1,374 yards so far this year along with 17 touchdowns. He’s had multiple giant games through the air, but his best game came in a win against Alexander where he threw for 303 yards and five touchdowns. Look for him to try and lead Sandy Creek to a massive playoff run later this year.
Ben Brown – Wesleyan
A new name to know in the metro-Atlanta area, Brown may just be a sophomore, but he’s already making a big impact throwing the football in the 3A classification. A reliable quarterback with an arm that is only getting stronger, it’s been a solid season so far for the 6-foot-1 165-pounder. He’s averaging an impressive 195 yards per game which is a solid number for someone his age. He’s getting better and better as the season moves along, throwing for 1,366 yards so far to go along with 15 touchdown passes. He’s completing 61% of his passes, and that number is likely to increase more and more. He’s a new quarterback to know about, not only in the Norcross area, but in all of 3A right now.
