Both teams have similar styles and are going to be balanced. Both teams are going to be playing very hard tonight. Let’s take a look at this game.
Starkville’s offensive strengths.
Starkville does a great job of being balanced on offense. They can move the football up the field in a few different ways. This team can score points. They had a lot of injuries at the earlier this season that bothered their guys a lot. The fans are waiting on this offense to be at their full potential. I know they can be. Courtland Cooper needs to be running the ball heavy tonight. Slow this Oxford defense down and keep them honest. They also like to let Braylon Burnside Braylon Burnside 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Starkville | 2024 State MS run around with the rock.
Starkville’s Defensive Strengths
Starkville has a very stout defense who likes to be selfish. Things have just been going the wrong way for them since they played Louisville. That can change when times get closer to the playoffs. When it is playoff time some defenses get fed up with losing and they make things happen. They had a win last week and that may be the juice they needed.
Oxford’s Offensive Strengths
Oxford has Mack Howard Mack Howard 6'3" | 175 lbs | QB Oxford | 2023 State MS and Roman Gregory on their side. In my opinion that is enough said. No disrespect to their receivers cause they have some big time playmaker guys on the islands. Mack is going to have his hands full with this Yellowjacket secondary. The run game won’t be too friendly tonight. Starkville has a very disciplined defensive line.
Oxford‘s Defensive Strengths
Oxford plays very fast on defense. Alex Sanford Alex Sanford 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Oxford | 2023 State MS is a monster on their defense who lives in the backfield. He is a guy that holds things down on that side of the ball for them. He does not make a lot of mistakes. They are going to need him to be a baller tonight. Courtland Cooper will be keeping the Chargers’ defense hands full. So they have to be sure to stay disciplined tonight behind Alex Sanford Alex Sanford 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Oxford | 2023 State MS .
