Continue ReadingHempfield will be looking to rebound from the 60-7 drumming they took last week to Gateway High School. With the exception to the Penn Trafford win, the Spartans haven’t had a close victory all season. Seneca Valley’s record this year is 4-2 overall with a 1-1 conference record. The 2 losses SVHS suffered where very close games in retrospect. Seneca Valley has a group of D1 recruits that have been balling for them. Some of the Raider’s prospects are Chris D’Appolonia, Aiden Lyczek Aiden Lyczek 6'4" | 225 lbs | LB Seneca Valley | 2023 State PA , Luke Lawson Luke Lawson 6'3" | 200 lbs | DB Seneca Valley | 2023 State PA and Luke Lambert Luke Lambert 6'3" | 235 lbs | DL Ashland-Greenwood | 2023 State NE . The Spartans leaders are Eli Binakonsky Eli Binakonsky 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Hempfield Area | 2023 State PA , Jake Phillips Jake Phillips 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Hempfield Area | 2023 State PA , Keiran Lippman and Ian Tuffs Ian Tuffs 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Hempfield Area | 2023 State PA & they’ll be ready to even the score.
Chris covers space well in zone coverage triggering fast to deliver hits in the flat. He blitzes with aggression & can take out a QB if unblocked. D’Appolonia zone drops exceptionally well and successfully takes away curls & out routes in his zone. At 6’2 225 running a 4.62-sec 40-yard dash, he possesses FBS size & speed. Chris is an explosive hitter that will be a great contributor on special teams at Toledo. Effort isn’t a problem for Chris, he’s all over the place wreaking havoc on film.
Hancox’s interest has been coming from FBS mid-majors & FCS programs primarily. Graham is a nice size pocket QB that has a quick trigger. He’s a volume passer that throws well off of RPOs & play-action. The senior signal caller can make all the throws from the pocket, but he also throws well on rollouts & sprint outs. He’s accurate along with his strong arm that allows him to fit balls into small windows. Hancox surveys the defense & gets the ball out fast. His swiftness getting rid of the ball makes it tough for defenses to sack him.
Highlights
Luke currently has FCS offers from Holy Cross, RMU & St. Francis. Lambert fires off the ball with speed & power as bludgeoning opposing players. He shocks blockers with strength on his initial contact & sheds violently. His motor doesn’t stop in run pursuit or pass rushing the QB. Luke intercepted a deflected pass on a pass rush & showed good mobility on the return. Lambert disengages blocks well & gets his hands up for bat-downs on blitzes.
Highlights
Luke committed to FBS Navy before the start of his senior season. The big body wideout had D1 offers from Navy, Columbia, Brown, Duquense & St.Francis. Lawson possesses great leaping ability shown on jump balls. His 6’2 210 lbs frame allows him to be a dangerous weapon in the Redzone. He’s talented at finding the holes in zone coverage & making his big frame a target. He’s decisive & quick off the line versus press, and he uses his size to box out smaller DBs. Lawson is a strider that can win over the top with speed once he gets going.
Like his teammate Luke Lawson Luke Lawson 6’3″ | 200 lbs | DB Seneca Valley | 2023 State PA , Aiden committed to the Navy Midshipmen this past summer. He gets his weight behind tackles and often de-cleats ball carriers. The D1 Defensive End gains ground quick off of the ball, putting pressure on Offensive Tackles. Lyczek displays good bend dipping his shoulder coming off the edge rushing the QB. Aiden uses his hands well in general engaging & disengaging blockers. He hitsticks ball carriers he has to chase for the tackle. The senior D Linemen has great agility redirecting & goes until the play is complete.
Phillips has D1 interest & a couple of division 2 offers to fall back on. He has a live arm with a nice high release. The 23′ prospect steps into his throws well standing tall in the pocket. He reads defenses well & has good zip & ball placement on deep balls. He isn’t a runner primarily but has adequate speed. Phillips has good footwork in the pocket & keeps his eyes downfield properly scrambling.
The senior prospect has an offer from a D2 school right now. Ian is a fluid route runner that displays good body control. He has the speed to get behind DBs & the focus to make difficult receptions. Tuffs is also skilled at sitting down in the weak spots in zone coverage. On defense he’s tough from his FS spot which aids him on offense.
Shaw has been in contact with FCS & D2 programs for his recruitment. He’s very athletic & agile for being an offensive/defensive linemen. He has a great motor on defense and sets the edge well. Shaw is nice and tall which will make it tough for QBs trying to throw over him. Ethan is light right now for OL but has the frame to bulk up in college. He’s capable of driving defenders out of the box man blocking. Shaw’s ideal size at O line collegiately is around 285-300 lbs.
Eli has visited some FCS schools unofficially recently & presently has 2 Division 2 scholarship offers. He’s a hard hitter who gives great effort. The senior LB has goods instincts & is a decent athlete. Binakonsky reads his keys well and moves well laterally tempo-ing the ball. In pass coverage he drops well & can make plays on the football. Eli has decent speed and size that is displayed when he runs the football at Running Back.
tyson gregory
tyson gregory
Tyson is being evaluated heavily by a couple of division 2 schools for his recruitment. He’s competitive and plays bigger than his size. Ty has alright ball skills & contests the receiver well. He triggers fast coming up to help in run support. Gregory also possesses good play recognition which allows him to break swiftly on passes. Tyson will also be a valuable member on special teams in a college program.
Joe Dolinski
Joe Dolinski
Dolinski has been getting attention from some D1s but no offer presently. He seems best equipped to play offensive guard & possibly emergency tackle on the next level. Joe possesses FBS size & strength at 6’4 295 lbs. I would like to see Dolinski improve on his pad level & punch in pass protection.
