Let’s take a look…
Kayden McDonald Kayden McDonald 6'0" | 290 lbs | DL North Gwinnett | 2023 State GA – DT – North Gwinnett
Arguably the top interior defensive lineman in the state, the strong, powerful defensive tackle has earned offers from some of the top programs in the country, and now he’s released his “Top 5”. The dominant defensive tackle is a game-wrecker at the high school level and will have an instant impact for the school of his choosing. The impressive North Gwinnett (GA) defender is now down to Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan and Clemson. He’s having an excellent senior season for the Bulldogs so far, making 34 tackles, 20 TFLs, and seven sacks.
Jordan Burns – OLB – Pace Academy
One of the top breakout linebackers in Atlanta right now, the 6-foot-1 215-pounder out of Pace Academy (GA) is starting to see his recruitment take off after an excellent start to his junior season. He’s a hard-hitting linebacker with speed, and he has no problem chasing down the ball carrier. He has a lengthy frame, he reacts quickly, and he appears to be playing better and better each week. Burns has helped lead a terrific Pace Academy defense that has two shutouts already and given up 20+ points once all season. He’s tough, physical, and has been reliable in coverage at times as well. He’s a true breakout defender to know about and he recently earned a new offer from Auburn.
London Merritt – ATH – Woodward Academy
Another breakout defender from Atlanta, Merrit has been dominant so far this season on the defensive line, showing elite quickness off the ball and the ability to wreck a play before it gets started. At 6-foot-3 230-pounds, his size and athleticism allow him to play in multiple spots on the defensive line and has lived in the backfield all season so far. Just a sophomore, the Woodward Academy (GA) standout has played like a veteran and has been one of the top sophomore defenders in the Atlanta this fall. He’s playing alongside multiple other top defenders on the Woodward Academy defense, and he’s more than holding his own. He already looks like a promising D1 prospect and the offers are starting to fly in. Merritt earned a recent offer from LSU and more could be on the way soon.
Caden Williams Caden Williams 5'11" | 200 lbs | ATH Calhoun | 2024 State GA – RB – Calhoun
We’ve written about Williams multiple times so far this season and it’s about time that he’s started seeing some heavy D1 interest come his way. An athletic back who can make plays out of the backfield in a number of ways, Williams has become one of the best 2024 backs in North Georgia this year and has been a reliable option all year for the Calhoun offense. He’s tough, runs hard, but knows how to make defenders miss in the open field. He can take a hit and knows how to pick up tough yards after first contact. He’s been fun to watch so far this season as a junior and earned a new offer this week from East Carolina. The way he’s been running this season, this likely won’t be the last offer that comes his way.
