Five Division 2 Athletes that could blow up this Postseason
In this article:
It’s almost playoff time! Looking ahead to the postseason, there is a bounty of players who have already had amazing seasons and could blow up in the playoffs. In general, these are players who have already been on top of their game but will get many more looks if their team makes a deep run. Here are those five players!
Farnum is one of the most explosive athletes in Michigan, and he’s on a team that could win the State Championship. When I watched him against Rockford, Farnum was on the field nearly every play, and had a very high load of touches.
Farnum wins with twitchiness and speed. Honestly, he’s a player I’m surprised hasn’t gotten more attention. Players oftentimes receive much more attention during the postseason, and knowing how important Farnum is to this team, I expect high D2 looks/offers.

Hudkins has garnered some attention in the past few months, securing his first offer from Western Michigan. Playing in the OK-White, Hudkins hasn’t faced many elite passing games, but if FHC makes a playoff run, Hudkins will get plenty more opportunities.rnHudkins has also been a recurring name on our OK conference Players of the Week list
I hope to see Hudkins and FHC make a deep playoff run, but they’ll likely have Mona Shores, Reeths-Puffer, and Byron Center in their division, all amazing opponents.

East Lansing is a great team, and Hayden Healey Hayden Healey 6’4″ | 305 lbs | OL East Lansing | 2023 MI is a great offensive lineman.
Healey is a great size for a guard, and uses his power well. He’s not the most athletic lineman, but he makes up for it in general technique. I expect East Lansing to face off against a few good front 7’s this postseason, and if Healey performs well, I wouldn’t be surprised if a D3 came calling.

Reeves has the opportunity of his life.
A QB transfer from Holland Christian, Reeves Taylor Reeves Taylor 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Dexter | 2023 MI has been lights-out for the #1 ranked Dreadnaughts. Right now, Dexter is one of the favorites to win it all, and the further Dexter goes, the more eyes will be on Reeves and his team.
This is a program that has garnered a ton of attention as of late, and I have no doubt there are colleges considering reaching out to Reeves.
So far this season, Reeves has 1,234 passing yards, 17TDs, and 2INTs. He’s been a steady player who could blow up.

Towering over the competition at 6’6, Dominic Pesci Dominic Pesci 6’6″ | 215 lbs | QB Farmington | 2023 MI is an excellent QB with the smarts to go to a very academically competitive school, and the skill to play at the next level.
I saw him around during last offseason, though he was out recovering from an injury. This season, he led Farmington to a share of the OAA Blue title, and absolutely tore up the Seaholm secondary last week. I expect Farmington to be in a very challenging region come playoff time, but if Pesci is able to lead Farmington deep into the playoffs, I expect colleges to take notice.
