Christian Brathwaite Christian Brathwaite 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Cy Ranch | 2023 State TX | 6’1 225 | Linebacker | Cy Ranch
LSU Commit
Braithwaite was originally committed to Baylor, but flipped his commitment to the LSU Tigers in the last few days. Christian has the ideal size and frame that Power 5 linebackers posses. He flows from sideline to sideline with great speed and tackles well in the open field. Braithwaite has great instincts, he has disciplined eyes and his ability to read, react and diagnose plays, put him in position to make plays from multiple angles. His long, athletic frame, allows him to keep blockers from getting into his chest when taking on blocks and he uses his length to make secure tackles on opponents in the open field.
Projection: Braithwaite has the frame to add lean bulk at 6’1 225 pounds, when he gets entrenched into the LSU strength program. He has the potential to develop into an all-conference defender, who will provide speed and flexibility at the linebacker position due to his ability to line up at the Mike or Will Linebacker. His skill set will flourish in the LSU defense, as they have historically developed aggressive, speedy linebackers.
Warren Roberson Warren Roberson 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Red Oak | 2023 State TX | 6’0 180 | Athlete | Red Oak
TCU Commit
Offense: Roberson is electric with the ball in his hands. Offensively, Warren is a nightmare matchup, using his next level short area quickness to break free from coverage and his crisp route running allows him to find holes in the defense routinely. Where Roberson is most dangerous is in the open field. His ability to shift gears, change direction without losing speed, combined with his ability to accelerate past opponents, make him a lethal weapon.
Defense: Warren is a ballhawk with elite ball skills and his well trained eyes allow him to make plays from the secondary in the Red Oak defense. Roberson’s superb, fluid footwork put him in position to cause havoc for opponents who dare test him. When he gets his hands on the football on defense, he immediately turns into an offensive threat. Roberson speed enables him to display his range on the back end when he lines up at safety, but he has the skill set to walk down and cover receivers in the slot.
Projection: TCU is getting one of the most versatile athletes in the Class of 2023 in Roberson, who could step on campus and be a factor right away due to his ability to make big plays using. The Horned Frogs have a history of turning speedy, ballhawking defensive backs into all conference players who move on to the NFL and Warren Roberson Warren Roberson 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Red Oak | 2023 State TX fits that mold. But it will be difficult for the TCU offensive coaches not to put up a fight for his services on the Horned Frog offense. His prowess at working the middle of the field, coupled with ability to beat defenders off the line of scrimmage and being a weapon in the screen game, could pay dividends for the Horned Frog offense in the near future.
