As we head into the end of the regular season, it is time to look at a few seniors who have stood out as valuable prospects in one of the more under-recruited positions in the state, many of whom are without offers.
This article will take a closer look at six senior linebackers who deserve to be offered immediately.
86 TCK, 10 TFL, 2 QB HUR, 1 sack, 2 PBULewis is a stud middle linebacker with phenomenal talent, yet he is still relatively overlooked and under-recruited. His vision explosiveness, paired with his ability to read his keys well, gives him an advantage at playing against the run. He has outstanding speed, which helps him chase down ball carriers and close the distance with ease. Lewis is one of the top linebackers in the state and the best ILB prospect within walking distance from Colorado University. Yet, his only offers are from Coastal Carolina and a recent one from San Diego. Lewis is an athlete who can compete at the highest level, making him an absolute steal.

80 TCK, 18 TFL, 10 QB HUR, 3 sacks, 2 FF, 2 FMB REC Brett Alvey Brett Alvey 6’1″ | 220 lbs | LB Pine Creek | 2023 State CO has the potential to be an outstanding linebacker at the next level, but he still seems to be barely scratching the surface of the recruiting radar. He does a good job playing against the run by flowing with the play and scraping over the top to meet the ball carrier in the hole. His speed and strength make him a solid pursuer and sure-tackler, while his athleticism gives him an advantage when dropping into coverage and playing against the pass. Alvey holds a single FCS offer from Valparaiso University, but there is no reason he should not have more interest coming his way.

133 TCK, 14 TFL, 4 QB HUR, 4 sacks, 8 PBU, 5 INT, 2 FF, 2 FMB REC, 1 BLK FGEngle is the spark that gets the defense to set the entire field ablaze, but he is somehow still an under-recruited player. He does a fantastic job at sniffing out the play and finding the ball. His zone drops are impressive; he gets depth quickly and moves his feet while covering threats in his area. Engle has garnered quite a bit of attention from Division I and Division II programs but only holds one offer from South Dakota School of Mines, making him one of the bigger sleepers on this list.
Highlights
45 TCK, 5 TFL, 7 PBU, 2 FF, 2 FMB REC, 1 INT, 1 sack, 1 BLK FGUnlike the other linebackers on this list, Voggesser is more of an outside linebacker who could quickly fill the hybrid strong safety role for a defense. His athleticism is unmatched, adding to his outstanding playmaking abilities. He does a fantastic job defending the perimeter of the box, and his coverage skills are extremely impressive. Voggesser has received quite a bit of attention from multiple programs but only holds one FCS offer from Bucknell University. Being in arms reach of Colorado, Colorado State, and Northern Colorado, it is a shock that he has yet to land a scholarship offer from one of the in-state schools. Voggesser is a sleeper with an extremely high ceiling.
71 TCK, 17 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 QB HUR, 3 PBU, 2 INT, 2 FF, 1 BLK FBGarnett is the type of player who appears to be cut from an old-school cloth. His playing style is explosive, aggressive, and violent, which are essential qualities for a middle linebacker. He does a great job as a vocal leader from within the heart of the box, ensuring the defensive front and other linebackers know their assignments. Garnett stays locked in for all four quarters, whether on the field or not, which only adds to his stock value as a prospect. So far, Garnett holds an offer from Chadron State, but there is no reason he should have an offer from every D2 school within Colorado’s borders.
Max Kibbee
Max Kibbee
91 TCK, 7 TFL, 1 sackOne thing that is usually expected from an inside backer is superb tackling, a box that Kibbee can check in his sleep. His strength and power allow him to deliver devastating blows that excite the entire stadium. His speed and techniques mix perfectly with his understanding of the game, giving him the potential to become an elite player. Kibbee recently received his first offer from CSU-Pueblo, a D2 program with a roster full of D1 talent, proving that his stock value is set to skyrocket at any moment.
