Tanner turned in another elite performance in East Ridge’s Friday night win over a tough Eagan squad. He finished the game with 304 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air while completing 18 of his 24 passing attempts. Zolnosky has truly solidified himself as one of the best QBs in the state regardless of class. The junior has already received a Division 1 offer from Bowling Green out of the Mid-American Conference. Tanner and the Raptors will face off with undefeated Woodbury on Friday.
Highlights
Sam had a breakout performance in the win over Hopkins. He completed 15 out his 24 attempts, racked up 229 yards passing yards, three touchdowns and he also added a rushing touchdown. The biggest play of his night came on a 52-yard strike to Ot Omot Ot Omot 6’4″ | 165 lbs | WR Park of Cottage Grove | 2023 State MN where Berrey delivered a perfect ball on a post route. Park is now on a two-game win streak behind two solid performances from Sam and the passing game as a whole.

Peyton Podany
Peyton Podany
Peyton is only a sophomore and looks to be making huge improvements throughout the season already. He led Anoka to a 30-0 win over Roseville this past Friday getting it done through the air. He totaled 151 passing yards and a pair of touchdown passes in the blowout victory. Podany and the Tornadoes will look to keep this momentum going with a Friday night conference matchup with the Mounds View Mustangs.
Carson has been completely dominating again this season, picking up right where he left off last year. He broke his schools single-game rushing record this past Friday, totaling an astonishing 322 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground only getting 23 carries in the blowout win over Farmington. The Iowa State commit is easily the best rusher in the state right now and Lakeville South should still be one of the favorites to end up with the state title. Hansen and the Cougars will take on undefeated Rosemount this Friday in the most anticipated matchups of the week in my opinion.
Highlights
Damien has truly been a workhorse back so far this season. In the winning effort over Bemidji, he carried the ball 44 times on his way to 227 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Bentho has shown off his elite strength and stamina with the large amount of volume he has received this year so far. He is currently averaging over 27 carries per game and Brainerd is 3-2 through their first five contests. They will go on the road to take on Alexandria this Friday.
Jadon was another player this past week who received a ridiculous amount of volume. He had 39 rushing attempts, finding the end zone once and racking up 168 yards in the 26-0 win over Edina. Shakopee has bounced back from their Week 2 loss to Prior Lake and look to carry this win streak into the second half of the season. Jadon and the Sabers will take on Lakeville North this Friday in one of the top games of the week.
OT has been an elite deep threat so far this season and he showed just that in the win over Hopkins this past week. He ended the game with a season-high 117 receiving yards on 5 catches, including a pair of touchdowns. Omot also doubles as a standout basketball player where he is at his best when making plays with his freakish athleticism. He can jump out of the gym and also has very impressive speed for someone his size. Park has a Saturday matchup with Burnsville this week.

Riley Schwellenbach
Riley Schwellenbach
Riley was Tanner Zolnosky Tanner Zolnosky 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB East Ridge | 2024 State MN ‘s favorite target this past week as he finished the win over Eagan with 128 yards and 2 touchdowns on 4 receptions. Both of those touchdowns came in a tight game in the second quarter, one being a long 60-yarder and the other coming from 15 yards out in the redzone. The Raptors have won two in a row now after an 0-2 start and look to be on the right track headed into the second half of the season.
Eli Paulson
Eli Paulson
This is the second time this season that Eli has been one of my stat-sheet standouts. He torched Roseville with 7 catches, 116 yards, and a score through the air, but also added a 2-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter. Paulson has that big-play ability that can change the whole outlook on a game as he had a long 64-yard touchdown later in the game. Anoka will be matching up with Mounds View this Friday.
