2023 6’3 210 QB – Myles Slade – St. John’s
Leading the Cadets to a dominant 42-14 victory, Myles Slade delivered an incredible bounce-back performance this weekend. On the very first snap of the game, Slade scored a 55 yard rushing touchdown that he made look easy. He, quite literally, blazed past the bulk of the Gonzaga Prep defense with incendiary speed, and he barreled through any contact like a fullback. Slade scored touchdowns with both his arms and his legs in this one, and he didn’t even play the entire contest. Slade finished 5 for 6 throwing the football, and he added 70 rushing yards- including his opening drive rushing touchdown. Myles Slade is proving himself to be one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the entire WCAC, and he will look to expand on his great performance this weekend against Tottenville @2PM Eastern.

2023 6’1 170 WR – Kristian Tate – DeMatha
Kristian Tate certainly has my vote for overall player of the week, and the reason is because he absolutely went off this weekend. With multiple touchdowns, including one on special teams, his numbers absolutely speak for themselves and they truly represent his dominant performance. Tate was all over the field against Benedictine on Saturday, particularly when he returned a punt return for about 70 yards to the house for a DeMatha touchdown. Kristian Tate was an absolute game changer for the Stags, and his high demand for the ball in the secondary opened up space for DeMatha’s running game in a big way. If Kristian Tate can continue his elite performance then there’s no doubt in my mind that he’ll be named to the WCAC offensive 1st Team at the end of the season. Tate and the Stags will look to expand on their dominant win on Friday against Friendship Collegiate Academy @7PM Eastern under the Friday night lights.
2023 6’1 185 DB – Dante Lovett Dante Lovett 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB DeMatha | 2023 State MD – DeMatha
If you’re looking for a lockdown cornerback with an infinitely high ceiling at the position and beyond then look no further than Dante Lovett Dante Lovett 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB DeMatha | 2023 State MD . Lovett shut his receivers completely out of the game on Saturday, and he also delivered on an unbelievable pick-six. His anticipation on this interception was so high level that I had to watch it three times just to make sure I saw what I saw. Lovett read the quarterback’s eyes and body language from the very moment he stepped up to the line of scrimmage, and the end result was Lovett waltzing into the end-zone with a massive touchdown for DeMatha. The Stags’ secondary looked as strong as they have so far into the season on Saturday, and, led by Dante Lovett Dante Lovett 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB DeMatha | 2023 State MD , they’ll look to continue their dominant play this Friday against FCA @7PM Eastern.

2024 6’0 180 RB – Dilin Jones Dilin Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Good Counsel | 2024 State MD – Good Counsel
Dilin Jones Dilin Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Good Counsel | 2024 State MD is already showing us that he’s the most dominant running back in the conference and we’re only a few games into the season. His yards after contact are absolutely off the charts, and I can’t remember an instance where he was tackled on first contact. He’s an immensely powerful runner, and, with 21 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown, that power was on full display against Archbishop Moeller on Saturday. While Good Counsel fell short to Archbishop Moeller 31-39, Dilin Jones Dilin Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Good Counsel | 2024 State MD still put forth a supreme effort that cements him as one of the top running backs in the entire WCAC. Jones and the Falcons will look to bounce back into the win column on Friday in a tough matchup with Mount St. Joseph’s.

2025 5’10 175 RB – Bud Coombs – DeMatha
Bud Coombs was without question the top performing underclassman in this contest, and, if not for a holding penalty, he would’ve finished the game with multiple touchdowns. Coombs ran a touchdown in early that was called back, however, he displayed such elite level patience and vision on his touchdown run that it’s pretty much irrelevant that it was called back. He scored again late in the contest to give DeMatha a huge cushion, but by that point in the game Coombs’ running back prowess was already on full display. Bud Coombs is one of the most exciting underclassman running back recruits in the entire WCAC, and he certainly showcased why that is against Benedictine this past weekend. Watch Bud Coombs again on Friday versus FCA @7PM Eastern.

2023 5’9 160 WR – Jamarr Ebron Jamarr Ebron 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Archbishop Carroll | 2023 State MD – Archbishop Carroll
Jamarr Ebron Jamarr Ebron 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Archbishop Carroll | 2023 State MD continues to deliver player of the game type performances in every contest. This weekend Ebron only recorded 2 receptions, but those receptions accounted for more than 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ebron’s outstanding performance accounted for about half of the team’s points in Carroll’s 34-0 shutout victory against Woodson, and he’ll look to continue his dominant play this Saturday versus Woodrow Wilson. Jamarr Ebron Jamarr Ebron 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Archbishop Carroll | 2023 State MD is a next level game changer with a very high ceiling and that will all be on full display this weekend.
