Today we’re looking at the quarterback position and which seniors are starting to make a name for themselves. The young men featured on this list, for the most part, aren’t crawling with offers, but I do think that could change quickly. They’ve put up some impressive numbers thus far and have displayed a ton of tools at the quarterback position. Look for them to continue this trajectory and cap off a big senior season!
Nic Staffieri, 6’2″ 190, Pleasant Grove
- Has the ability to fit the football over linebackers and in front of safeties.
- Can generate a ton of velocity on his throws without even setting his feet.
- Ball placement is consistent.
- Extremely cerebral with a 3.98 GPA & a 34 ACT.
Ezra Harris, 6’1″ 190, Stansbury
- Keeps his eyes downfield, searching for a target when escaping the pocket.
- Is a talented runner with defined cuts.
- Uses his eyes to fool safeties on the four verticals concept.
- Willing and able to sit in the pocket & work a longer progression.
Luke Jacobs Luke Jacobs 6'1" | 175 lbs | ATH Viewmount | 2023 State UT , 6’1″ 175, Viewmont
- Was gifted a rocket of an arm.
- Shows outstanding vision on called quarterback runs.
- Has fantastic balance through contact.
- His ability to adlib on his own may be his greatest asset.
Alex Jackson, 6′ 180, Juab
- Shows phenomenal touch on throws of 30 yards plus.
- Throws the back shoulder ball like a polished veteran.
- Terrific throwing on the run outside the pocket.
- Go ball rarely causes his targets to break stride.
Devin Watson Devin Watson 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Summit Academy | 2023 State UT , 6’1″ 190, Summit Academy
- Calmly steps up into the pocket with pressure coming at him and will deliver a throw downfield.
- Has some running capabilities that come out once the pocket breaks down.
- Can take something off his throws to fit the ball into tight intermediate windows.
- Plenty of elusiveness to evade free rushers and keep a play alive.
Ryker Jeppsen, 5’11” 175, Bear River
- Shows clean footwork in the pocket.
- Despite being a smaller quarterback, he generates a ton of torque on his throws.
- Plays the position with a hard-nosed mentality.
- Is a physical runner when called upon.
Kyson Condie, 6′ 180, Provo
- Will expedite his release against heavy rushes.
- Puts the fade ball high and away from the defender, allowing his target to go snatch it.
- Identifies flat-footed safeties and will place the ball right over them.
- Has some serious craftiness to his game.
