Today, I decided to analyze some of the most underrated quarterbacks from around the state of Missouri. Their skill-sets vary; from pocket passers to dual-threat speedsters, but they all have one thing in common… They can ball! Look for these guys to show up and show out tomorrow & beyond this fall!
Chris Cotton Chris Cotton 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB De Smet | 2023 State MO , 5’11” 190, De Smet, SR
- Consistent ball placement on vertical throws.
- Unphased by free rushers screaming at him.
- Can set up his feet quickly to ensure maximum accuracy.
- Is a terrific timing thrower.
Wyatt Woods, 6′ 185, Republic, JR
- Can tuck it and run if everything is covered downfield.
- Impressive accuracy vertically when throwing off-platform.
- Plenty of arm talent to challenge safeties.
- Proven to be quite slippery inside the pocket.

- Can easily take some mustard off throws of thirty yards plus.
- Routinely hits his wideouts in stride.
- Can fit intermediate throws through tight windows.
- Has a gunslinger-type mentality inside the pocket.

- Plenty of improvisational ability when the pocket breaks down.
- Keeps his eyes downfield when forced outside the tackle box.
- Places the football right on his target’s numbers.
- Has a ton of upside with his god-given athleticism.

- Is a tear drop thrower on vertical concepts.
- Can kick in the turbos and create chunk plays with his legs.
- Has some velocity to throw tight hole shots.

- Identifies coverage and leverage well pre-snap.
- Doesn’t need to set his feet for deep intermediate throws.
- Willing to sit in the pocket and take a shot from an unblocked defender.
- Shows no issues making field-side throws from the opposite hash.

- Has a certain physicality inside the pocket that’s hard to find at the position.
- Can work through lengthy progressions.
