Which running backs had MONSTER games over the weekend?
Prep Redzone takes a look…
Peyton Streko Peyton Streko 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB West Forsyth | 2023 State GA – West Forsyth
Another week, another monster performance for West Forsyth running back, Peyton Streko Peyton Streko 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB West Forsyth | 2023 State GA . After a tough season-ending injury as a junior last year, Streko has dominated this year as a senior and ran wild once again during a big win over Cambridge. The fast, physical back had long 62-yard touchdown run and another 72-yard touchdown run in the victory. In total Streko rushed for 332 yards and five touchdowns. He scored at will and was too much for the Bears defense to handle. He’s quick, explosive, but finishes tough runs as well. He’s excellent around the goal-line, but he has the ability to score from any point on the field. He’s one of the most explosive running backs in the state and he’s had an incredible last two weeks running the ball. The Air Force is getting an absolute steal in Streko who rarely has a game where he’s not running through the opposing defense. Once again, Streko had one of the best running back performances across the state.
Demari Forster – Dublin
Another small-town running back, the junior out of Dublin ran wild on Friday night with 17 carries for 335 and 4 TDs on the ground. At 5-foot-11 195-pounds, Foster is a two-way player who plays the Sam linebacker for Dublin in their 4-3 scheme and the fullback position in their Wing-T offense. He has an incredible burst for a kid his size and can hit top speed within a few steps. He’s tough, physical, can pick up tough yards, and keeps the chains moving. He’s gaining more confidence and will be a major factor on both sides of the ball throughout the rest of the season.
Khyair Spain Khyair Spain 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Parkview | 2024 State GA – Parkview
In one of the biggest 7A games of the week, Spain, who is in the middle of a breakout junior season, led Parkview to a big win over North Gwinnett on the road. The productive back has been outstanding so far this year and gave another big performance, rushing for 192 yards and one touchdown in the road victory. He also caught two passes for just under 50 yards. He showed great burst all night and was tough for even a talented North Gwinnett defense to stop. He breaks a lot of tackles, but he’s got some speed as well. He’s dangerous in the open field and looking to score every time he has the ball. Look for him to continue running through defenses the rest of the year.
Jayden Mason – Calvary Christian
He may not play against the best competition, but Mason has still shown he has D1 potential this year, running through defenses every week so far. Through four games, Mason is one of the state’s leading rushers and is coming off a gigantic week four performance in a win over Flint River Academy. Although from a statistical standpoint, it wasn’t Mason’s best performance of the year, but he still ran the ball effectively, rushing 21 times for 248 yards and three touchdowns. His 11.8 yards per carry is outstanding against any defense, and it shows that he’s one of the most explosive and productive backs in the state. He’s now rushed for over 240 yards in each of his first four games this season. At 6-foot-0 205-pounds, Mason breaks tackles with ease in his region and can overpower defenses on a consistent basis. The way he’s playing, look for Mason to be one of the top rushers in the state come December.
Jordan Louie – Meadowcreek
The West Virginia commit is at it again. The new Meadowcreek back has been tremendous so far this year and had a giant game once again during a 40-19 win over Arabia Mountain. The versatile, dynamic back rushed 15 times for 206 yards and two touchdowns, adding a touchdown reception as well. He’s fast, explosive, and averaging nearly 12 yards per carry so far this year. He’s an excellent weapon out of the backfield in the passing game and faster than most defenders trying to catch him. He looked like he’s was playing in fast-forward last weekend and it won;t be the last time he torches a defense this fall.
