Which quarterbacks had giant performances in week 3 of the season last weekend?
Prep Redzone takes a look…
Keegan Stover Keegan Stover 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Rabun County | 2023 State GA – Rabun County
One of the most productive quarterbacks across the state so far this season, the big senior and West Forsyth had a game for the ages in week three, throwing for 465 yards and 8 touchdowns in a big 72-36 win over Adairsville. The 6-foot-3 220-pound pocket passer slung the ball all over the field and could not have played much better in Rabun County’s pass-happy offense. He was smart with the football, made the correct reads, but his ability to throw the ball accurately deep down the field really stood out. His arm has gotten stronger and stronger over the years and he showed off plenty of arm strength in the win. He’s playing great football right now and it doesn’t look like Stover and the Rabun County offense will slow down anytime soon.
Aaron Philo Aaron Philo 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Prince Avenue Christian | 2024 State GA – Prince Avenue Christian
Philo and the Wolverines had a big rivalry game against Athens Academy in week three, and the junior gunslinger had one of the best games you’ll see from any quarterback across the state. Not only did the talented quarterback lead Prince Avenue Christian to a come-from-behind victory, but he lit up the state sheet while doing it. Philo was 24-39 for 452 yards and six TD’s in the contest, leading his team to an important 49-14 win. Philo, who was one of the state’s passing leaders last year as a sophomore, continues to get better and better, showing that he has one of the strongest arms in the state. He’s a quick decision maker, he’s accurate, and has started to perfect the high-powered Wolverine offense. He distributes the ball well, and he’ll likely be one of the state’s leading passers once again in 2022.
Nate Hayes – Effingham County
One of the top small-town quarterbacks in the 2024 class, Hayes had a great game last weekend against Statesboro, leading Effingham County to an important 32-10 win over Statesboro. In the win, Hayes showed tremendous leadership skills and the ability to make plays with his feet as well. He has a strong, promising arm and threw for an impressive 266 yards and three touchdowns in the win. He also took off and ran for a score, doing a little bit of everything to secure the win. He’s a true under the radar quarterback who should only get better and better as the season moves along.
Cayman Prangley Cayman Prangley 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Kennesaw Mountain | 2023 State GA – Kennesaw Mountain
It’s been a fantastic senior season so far for the Kennesaw Mountain senior who has the Mustangs off to an excellent 3-0 start to the 2022 season. In a wild win over North Paulding last weekend, the polished quarterback was 24/43 through the air for 358 yards and 3 touchdown passes. He also rushed for 94 yards and one more touchdown in the close victory. They had to win a shootout over a tough North Paulding team, but Prangley has the poise, talent, and leadership skills to lead the Mustangs to victory. He made some D1-caliber throws in the win, showing off impressive arm strength and consistent accuracy down the field. He commands the offense well and knows exactly where to put the football for his receivers to make a play. He’s been terrific so far this year and has the Mustangs bound for a gigantic season.
