As a reminder, only players we’ve already ranked are on this list. Each week we also highlight a few players that have recently popped up on our radar after strong performances.
How could we possibly start anywhere else? Bailey was unstoppable on Friday, scoring a state record nine times on 35 carries. He ran for 426 yards and yes, we like him even better as a receiver. If he doesn’t start getting the offers he deserves, I’ll start calling out colleges by name. Offer this guy right now, because he can do the same thing in college.
Mercer has done nearly enough to make his way onto the rankings in each of the last two weeks, so this week we want to highlight him. He’s off to a torrid start, averaging nearly 350 passing yards a game and adding almost 300 on the ground. He’s big, accurate and moves well. We’re excited to see him continue to develop, but for now he’s one of the top passers in the 2023 class.
Highlights
Christopher is one of my favorite linebackers in the state and he’s shown why this season. Last Friday against Fuquay-Verina, Christopher was all over the place, notching 13 tackles and two sacks. He’s also forced two turnovers in three games and has been a menace for opposing offenses.
