Parkwood – DB Jordan Samuels – Samuels made an impressive interception in one on one coverage to stop a Providence drive in the 1st half. This was important because Parkwood had to commit a lot of resources to stop the Panther’s running game, which left one on one coverage on the outside against the Providence wide receivers.
Providence – DB Logan McIlveen Logan McIlveen 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Providence | 2023 State NC – Mcilveen is a defensive leader on a team that lost a ton of experience to graduation last season. He was among the team leaders in tackles and passes defended during this game, showed well throughout the offseason in camps, and should be a player with some offers at some point this season.
Providence – FS Evan Kakavitsas – Evan had a huge interception late in the 1st half that gave Providence another possession in which Luke Bailey Luke Bailey 5'11" | 195 lbs | ATH Providence | 2023 State NC scored a rushing touchdown – it’s conceivable to believe without that play that Bailey may not have broken the state record for TD rushes in one game.
Providence – LB Billy Wilkes Billy Wilkes 6'1" | 185 lbs | LB Providence | 2024 State NC – Younger brother of former Providence star Jack Wilkes, Billy had a ton of tackles against the Wolfpack and played fast and physical. A 2024 prospect, Billy will be one to keep an eye on as time goes on to see how he develops physically and on the field as well.
