This will be another week to rest some guys if need be. The Indians are struggling and Sheldon is playing some of their best ball in years.
#10 Lake Oswego (3-1) @ #2 West Linn (3-1) WL- 21.5
Look for the Lions to play with confidence after the beat down of top Washington program Lake Stevens last week. LO is one of the best programs ever to rep the state but I don’t see this being close.
Aloha (0-4) @ #3 Jesuit (3-1) JES- 53.5
The Warriors got blanked by Century last week 39-0. Jesuit’s starters might be done after the first quarter.
#4 Tualatin (4-0) @ #9 Lakeridge (2-2) TUAL -9
The game of the week. The T-Wolves have skill kids for days and a leading 6A POY candidate in Jack Wagner Jack Wagner 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Tualatin | 2023 State OR . The Pacers are badly in need of a team win that they can build some momentum off of. Pacer QB Ryan Oliver Ryan Oliver 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Lakeridge | 2023 State OR has had an MVP type season thus far, hitting on 76% of his passes with 15 TDs/ 0 INTs. A win against Tualatin could change everything.
#5 Central Catholic (3-1) @ Reynolds (3-1) CC-37
Reynolds has won a few games against some bad competition, with the 41-6 loss to Nelson really putting things into perspective. The Rams are #5 right now but are a legit 6A title contender again.
#6 Tigard (4-0) @ Oregon City (3-1) TIG-17.5
I wouldn’t sleep on OC but the Tigers should handle them and move on to the TRL gauntlet the last month of the season. The Pioneers have been somewhat disappointing considering they return double digit all conference athletes, and Tigard’s D looks like the real deal.
#15 Westview (1-3) @ #7 Mountainside (4-0) MTSIDE- 11
The Cats are a dangerous team. They beat a good Clackamas group to start the year and have the state’s top RB in Jordan Fisher Jordan Fisher 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Westview | 2023 State OR . That said as Mountainside might be the fastest rising program in the state. A win here would most likely set up a Metro League title matchup with Jesuit towards the end of the year.
Sprague (2-2) @ #8 South Medford (4-0) SMED -13.5
The Oly’s and Drew Rodriguez Drew Rodriguez 6'2" | 200 lbs | DB Sprague | 2023 State OR have the potential to be a problem for South, but the kids out of Medford are playing lights out. The state’s fastest man Andrew Walker Andrew Walker 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR South Medford | 2023 State OR had three more TDs in the first half last week, so he will be need to be contained for this to be close.
#11 Sherwood (2-2) @ Century (2-2) SHERW -38
The Bowmen got thumped by Jesuit 42-0 a week ago, but they are still a good football team. Century lost to Wilson earlier in the year just to put this matchup in to perspective.
#12 Barlow (2-2) @ David Douglas (0-4) BARL -29.5
Barlow is coming off one of their biggest wins in some time with the 21-14 OT victory at Clackamas. The Scots have gotten blasted each week, but have been decimated by injury and illness. Look for the Bruins to continue to roll.
#13 Clackamas (2-2) @ Nelson (3-1) CLACK -18.5
Expect Clack to come out with a vengeance after the loss to Barlow, while going head-to-head with their new local rival. Nelson played decent versus CC in the 35-7 loss. It would make their year if they could pull off the upset.
#14 South Salem (3-1) @ West Salem (0-4) SSAL -15
You wouldn’t think this would be close considering the records and how the teams have played thus far, but West has owned South Salem in recent years and the Valley in general. The Saxons will need to handle their business here if they want to win the CVC.
