Siegfried is a beast at the tight end spot and I like the matchup that he is going to face coming into this next week. Siegfried is a tight end who can get up to get passes down to him and he excels at overpowering corners who try to match up with him, especially those who can struggle with physicality from time to time. That is where I see Siegfried going off in this game exploiting the matchups that he is going to see in this game. Rapid City Central is great at stopping speedy wideouts by jamming them and causing them to stifle at the line of scrimmage, making them misstep as they go running their route. That will not work on Siegfried, he can shrug off jamming at the line of scrimmage and zooms past anyone that tries to do that with him with most of the time the defending player ending up on the ground. I am looking for a good performance out of him and I do not see him disappointing and expect to see him feed on holes that he will find in the defense. Jefferson is riding the wave of sorts and is playing on another level, and I expect to see Siegfried do no different.
Nate Andresen Nate Andresen 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Brandon Valley | 2023 State – WR, Brandon Valley
While Brandon Valley will be going up in a tough defense that can stop the pass, I am looking to see Andresen have a big game this week. Andresen’s game is quite interesting and fun to watch, most of it is predicated on the idea of the big play and giving his team as much field position as he can. He loves to get a big pass down into him and show those who are trying to guard him think twice when they see him lined up. Andresen’s biggest strength that he can use in this game is the ability to make some big plays and get some passes into him to get some big yards racked up as the game goes on. Look for him to find errors that the defense will make throughout the game and how he will react and see what he does next. The Brandon Valley Offense needs players like Andresen to be key for their scoring output and will be needed in this going against a team known to hawk receivers, yet I think Andresen knows that and is ready to show us what he has got.
Eli Barger Eli Barger RB Madison | 2024 SD – RB, Madison
Madison has not been playing up to everything that they have the ability to do and that could be in part due to the offense not firing on all levels, and that is where I see Barger coming in. Barger is a running back who has many of the traits that I like and one of those is being his motor and ability of play that he will always put on the field. While he has not received many if any snaps as a running back this year, every week is different and I see Madison mixing it up as the season goes on. Barger can zip and use his moves to create holes and his running room to create immense separation between him and the defenders that are trying to stop him. While he is not the strongest or fastest, he sure plays like it and that is why I see him putting out some numbers on the field this week. He works very well with his team and will do just about anything to get the win and I think we see that with his performance with not just his rushing yards but also other factors that you see with the offense. He lays down some great blocks and can hold pass rushers at bay as few others can, and that is perfect for a team-oriented running back. While he is not the flashiest, he plays his heart and does it well, make sure you see what he does this week if he gets out there on the field.
Jackson Brouwer Jackson Brouwer 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Sioux Falls Roosevelt | 2024 State SD – QB, Sioux Falls Roosevelt
Roosevelt has been in a slump to start the year and I think this is where we see Brouwer break out of the relative slump that he has found himself in. Brouwer has quite a lot of talent under his belt, there is no doubt about that, it is just a matter of staying calm and playing well. He has great mobility and can do just about anything at QB, and his style of play is something that you just love to watch on the field. Brouwer has had some issues with turning over the ball but I think this is the week that we see him break out and go off for a big performance. The Brandon Valley defense has given up some great QB performances to the start of the year and most of those teams shared the similarity of being mobile QBs with big arms. That sums up how Brouwer’s game is in the most basic way, and he can do so much more than that. Brouwer has all of the talents there and it is up to him if he can put it together and put the performance that his team needs from him out on the field, and this week is when I see that happening.
