Chavez is having a very nice start to the season as he is one of the best slot receivers across the Bay Area. Twitchy with the ability to get off press coverage, he has a strong initial burst, understands how to settle in zone coverage and shows strong hands when making catches in traffic. On film, he shows he can separate downfield with a second/third gear and is a vertical threat with sneaky speed that can make people miss in the open field and shows good contact balance and short area quickness when breaking tackles.
OL Colin Dooley, Los Gatos HS ’23
Dooley is a very athletic and powerful prospect that should see FCS+ interest come his way by the time his Senior season is over. He is strong at the POA with good bend and leverage to get underneath defenders and shows good initial knock-back, strong inside hands and a wide base through out his block progressions. He is able to be effective in a phone-booth while athletic enough to pull/scrape to the second level and takes good angles to second level defenders while finishing with good toughness and aggression. He has the frame to continue to pack on more weight in college and could play on either side of the ball.
DE Diallo Washington, Folsom HS ’23
Washington is one of the most talented pass rushers Norcal has to offer and passes the initial eye test. He is a big and physical kid that shows good explosion off the ball, is a natural bender and shows a quick use of hands/can flip his hips at the POA. Twitchy when pass rushing and showing COD abilities, he understands when to use counter moves and collapses the pocket quickly with impressive closing speed. Against the run, he locks out blockers from his chest and creates immediate knock-back while able to get off blocks quickly and violently shed. Another no brainer FCS+ kid, he should see recruiting pick up sooner rather than later.
DL Auckland Asiata, Sutter HS ’24
Auckland is a very technically sound defensive end that is balanced against the run and pass, while playing with heavy hands at the POA and establishes inside hand placement quickly. Off the ball, he has a quick get-off and takes good angles in the open field, while a strong tackler in the box and shows closing speed and natural bend out of his stance. Able to win with multiple pass rush moves, he can go speed to power effectively and get underneath the punch of blockers while quickly re-directing and using counter moves when needed.
