O’Gorman High School
Where do you start with OG, they have great talent on both sides of the ball and plays who will play unselfishly and will do what is needed to get the team to win. Bennett Dannenbring Bennett Dannenbring 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB SF O'Gorman | 2023 State is their star QB and he holds that reputation to a high standard of talent that he has shown so far. Dannenbring will be in tough competition facing a defense that has a reputation to stifle offenses in their tracks. OG will mainly be looking to their defense this game with their offense never being the issue, but some pieces on the defense will be critical players for this game. Hayden Groos had a breakout week last week as a great defensive back who was not lacking in the turnover department and burst onto the scene as a defensive stud to watch throughout the year. Nate Ratzlaff Nate Ratzlaff 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Sioux Falls O'Gorman | 2023 State is an ever-present linebacking stalwart who shall be critical for the Knights in their defensive endeavors for a few reasons. He mainly works well as a versatile run-stopping and passes coverage back who can be everywhere on the field at once. Star Gabe Tschetter Gabe Tschetter 6'1" | 185 lbs | LB Sioux Falls O'Gorman | 2023 State will be one who will be one to put a mark down on his name by the box score, with his ability to tear the offensive line apart with his elite pass rush and other key areas of defensive prowess to instill a sort of fear in members of the offense. Watch out for defensive end Alex Lupu too, I feel with the tape of him and the matchups that he will be facing in this game, him breaking out and going for a sack or two is not completely out of the question given his abilities at hand. Overall, the defense will be the key to the game for the Knights, as only relying on their high-powered offense against Tea Area simply will not do.
Tea Area High School
Tea has many players at its whims who can do quite a lot for him and can do just about anything within the parameters that the team needs for them to win. Keegan DeYoung and Chase Van Tol Chase Van Tol 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB Tea Area | 2023 State will be some of the key pieces to victory for their running game to get established early and efficiently. Both of them are power rushers and can easily run over anyone that comes in their way, and they can run off for big yards and gains. These two crucial backs will be needed to overpower the OG defense that has been known to contain runners. The defense will be the other side to the coin that will be needed to topple the goliath that is the O’Gorman Knights. Reis Kirschenman Reis Kirschenman 6'4" | 245 lbs | DL Tea Area | 2023 State and Griffen Schnider Griffen Schnider 6'0" | 235 lbs | OL Tea Area | 2023 State will be needed to cause problems and get TFLs in the backfield for their team. Both will need to tally sacks and QB pressures to force bad throws by Dannenbring who can be prone to turnover at times. Jackson Smythe and Jonah Hunter will be linebacker pieces who will be needed to stop the pass and cause OG to get the ball onto the ground and move the style of play into their favor. Overall, Tea will need to get its defense firing on all cylinders and ignite the office to perform to get the ball running fast and strong in all possible facets. While the task of facing the Knights may seem insurmountable, Tea is no stranger to the upset and does not let reputation or egos factor into their play and willingness to win at all costs.
