Landon Sides

Denton Guyer
Sides is off to a hot start in the 2022 season. Landon had nine catches for one hundred thirty eight yards to go along with two touchdowns against the Aledo Bearcats defense. This is his second straight week of over hundred yards receiving and multiple touchdowns. Sides has a quick release off of the line of scrimmage, runs crisp routes, his twitchy movements allows him to move smoothly in space and he possesses the elite speed to stretch the defense. The Class of 2023 wide receiver is a multi-sport athlete, who excels at track and field and has been clocked at 10.5 in the 100 meters, as well as the long jump which was just under 21 feet this past season. These numbers translate to the explosiveness Sides shows on the gridiron consistently. Sides displays a high football IQ. The former quarterback understands coverages, which allows him to find open holes in opposing defenses. Landon has excellent hands, high points the football and is a hands catcher consistently. Over the weekend Sides picked up an offer from the University of Incarnate Word, to go along with offers from Navy and Colorado School of the Mines. Landon Sides earned the title as one of the “Marc’D Men” after his stock rising performance.

Offensive Tackle
Class of 2024
Denton Guyer
Goodacre has an imposing presence at 6’6 280 pounds. When the ball is snapped it’s easy to see why he is a two year starter on the Wildcat offensive line. Heading into his junior season, Goodacre has stepped into the role as a vocal leader on the Wildcat offensive line. Willie began his career at Guyer as a tight end, but has grown into a starting left tackle, who protects Oklahoma commit quarterback Jackson Arnold Jackson Arnold 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Denton Guyer | 2023 State TX . His nimble feet aide his superb footwork, Goodacre has good hip flexibility that allows him to bend well, he sets the table well when pass blocking and gets into his kick slide quickly. He is a bulldozer in the run game, finishes blocks, tries to maul his opponent, plays with a high motor and cleared the way for the Guyer running game vs Aledo. Strong and physical at the point of attack, Goodacre has violent hands and his athletic frame enables him to reach the second level with ease. Willie has the measurables that Power 5 schools covet. Willie is on the recent Prep Redzone Texas Rankings “Watch List”, but as the season progresses, he should ascend up the rankings list. Offers from SMU, North Texas, Tulsa and Nebraska are just the beginning of the recruiting process for the Class of 2024 tackle. Goodacre left no doubt that he fits the mold of “Marc’D Men”.
Josiah Martin Josiah Martin 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Guyer | 2024 State TX

Josiah is smooth, relaxed, patience but deliberate with his footwork and plays at a different speed from his opponents. His elite body control, strong hands and explosive leaping ability allowed him to make the 50/50 ball he caught for a touchdown appear routine. Martin has oily hips and the speed to get deep behind the defense. Josiah starts off the 2022 season on the “Watch List” in the most recent update of the Class of 2024 Prep Redzone Texas rankings and as he continues to establish himself in the Guyer offense he will make his case to move into the rankings. Utah and Baylor have offered Martin, as his recruiting profile continues to rise. Pay close attention as Martin is on the list of “Marc’D Men”.

Running Back/ Linebacker
Class of 2024
Aledo
Keys was the most versatile athlete on the field on Friday night. As a bruising, powerful running back, Keys showed his nifty feet, his ability to break tackles at first impact and the speed to break into the Guyer secondary. Davhon scored both Aledo touchdowns, one on a short yardage score where he leapt over the top of Wildcat defenders, showing explosion and powerful leg drive. Defensively for the Bearcats, Keys is the unquestioned leader of the Aledo defense, roaming from sideline to sideline showing great range and filling gaps to make tackles for loss against a potent Guyer offense. The speedy linebacker makes plays behind the line of scrimmage look routine and runs well in the open field to track down opponents, while taking proper pursuit angles. Keys has well trained eyes, which allows him to diagnose plays quickly, displays violent hands and takes on blocks at the point attack well. Davhon is ranked as the #19 player overall and the #3 linebacker in the Prep Redzone Texas rankings. College programs from around the country such as Arizona, Penn State, Pittsburgh, LSU, Oklahoma, Missouri, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and SMU have all seen that when Keys steps on the field he fits the mold of “Marc’D Men”.

5’11 170 LBs.
Running Back/ Safety

Aledo
Daniels has the skill set to play on both sides of the ball. In the latest release of the Prep Redzone Texas Rankings for the Class of 2024, Keiran made the list as the #32 rated athlete due to his versatility to play offense and defense. But in week two, Aledo has found their workhorse at running back in Patrick Daniels. Daniels has a slashing running style, shows great vision in the hole, has the ability to change direction quickly and made defenders miss in the open field routinely. He runs with power, will lower his shoulder in short yardage situations and picked up several first downs for the Bearcat offense vs Guyer. Guyer came into the contest as the sixth ranked team in 6A with elite defenders such as Peyton Bowen Peyton Bowen 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Denton Guyer | 2023 State TX (Notre Dame commit), Ryan Yaites Ryan Yaites 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Guyer | 2023 State TX (LSU commit) and Eli Bowen Eli Bowen 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Guyer | 2024 State TX (#3 DB PRZ Tx rankings) and several returning defensive starters from a state championship runner up appearance in 2021. Daniels established himself as one of the “Marc’D Men” offensively rushing for 133 yards on 24 carries, while averaging 5 yards a carry. Look for Daniels to continue get more touches, as he has the make up of the next Aledo running back to carry the load for the Bearcats.
