Hough – WR Markell Quick – In a game between heated rivals, Quick quickly (pun intended) swung the momentum to the Hough side, returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead. Quick went on to have seven catches on offense as well, a couple of them moving the chains for critical first downs when field position and time of possession were extremely important. You will see his kickoff return here along with an interview we did with him after the game.
Chambers – QB Anshon Camp Anshon Camp 5'10" | 165 lbs | QB Chambers | 2023 State NC (Bubba) – Bubba Camp played a valiant game from the QB spot for Chambers. He was under pressure most of the night, and he tried his best to make plays on the run – one of the best traits he has at the position. Hough played some really tough defense, however Camp broke loose for a 33-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter where Chambers came out of the locker room with some fire. He got injured briefly, but came back in and finished the game. His athleticism was on display, showing why he is committed to Old Dominion.
Hough – QB Tad Hudson Tad Hudson 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Hough | 2023 State NC – Hudson, committed to North Carolina, played an efficient game on offense for the Huskies. It was obvious the game plan was to get the ball out quickly to combat the strong pass rush of the Chambers defense, and Hudson did a pretty good job with that. In the 2nd quarter, he found running back Akil Williams Akil Williams 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Hough | 2023 State NC for a TD pass over the middle, and he showed some ability to run and escape pressure from a very fast Cougars defense.
Hough – WR Sequan Osborne – Osborne, committed to Howard University, came up with some critical catches from the slot wide receiver position. He had a few chain-moving catches over the middle against tight man coverage, and showed an ability to get separation from cornerbacks on quick routes as well. He has a good frame and has the ability to play receiver on the outside as well. I think Howard got a steal with him in all honesty.
Check out the game highlights right here as well – hopefully we will get a round two matchup in the playoffs once again this year!
