This week, there are three games that stand out as being the most intriguing, and you better bet I’ll be covering one fo them. So now, lets go over these three games of the week!
South Christian (3-0) @ Cedar Springs (0-3)
Cedar Springs is the best 0-3 team in the state, as their three losses have all come against currently undefeated teams. They run the T-Wing as well as any team in the state, and come beakc with some experience from last season. I actually expect Cedar Springs to win this one.
South Christian always seems to be an overlooked program in the GR area. They’ve dominated every teamthey’ve played thus far, outscoring the competition 128-25. I am highly considering attending this matchup to learn more about both teams.
Players to watch: Jacob DeHaan, Robbie Laidler, Ryan West, Joshua Kriekaard
GR Christian (2-1) @ Northview (1-2)
This game on paper, will be a good one.
Grand Rapids Christian is 2-1 after a comeback victory against Fruitport and a decisive win against Forest Hills Northern. Wickstrom has had a few strong outings, but I’m looking for the defense and run game to show improvements in this one.
Northview has had a rough go so far, as they’ve lost against West Ottawa and EGR, with their only win being against Wyoming. If all three phases come together and work a little harder, this could be a playoff team.

Union (3-0) @ Reeths-Puffer (2-1)
This is the game I’ll likely be attending, and these are two teams I’m itching to see this season.
Reeths-Puffer seems to be on the up and up after head coach Cody Kater entered the building. They’re coming off a 28-20 loss to Muskegon, but that’s a significant imrpovement from their 47-21 loss last season agaisnt the same team. Brody Johnson Brody Johnson 5'10" | 195 lbs | RB RP | 2024 State MI performed well last week, and I’m looking forward to seeing who steps up this Friday.
Grand Rapids Union is my favorite team. Just a few years ago, getting a win was less likely than the Lions going to the Super Bowl. They were a program that I can only compare to Pontiac. Now, since Don Fellows took charge, Union is on the rise and they have some passionate players. They are 3-0 for the first time in over 20 years, but now face a brutal 3-game stretch against all of Muskegon.
