On the Knights’ offensive side of the ball, we saw them clicking on all cylinders like they have been doing for the past few weeks and that is no surprise to those who have been keeping up with their games to start the year. Bennett Dannenbring Bennett Dannenbring 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB SF O'Gorman | 2023 State was the key part of the offense for the Knights with his passing attack nothing short of fantastic of what we have been seeing him. He connected well with all of his receivers on Friday night with Ryland Satter Ryland Satter 6'3" | 215 lbs | ATH Sioux Falls O'Gorman | 2024 State SD and Sullivan Schlimgen Sullivan Schlimgen 6'1" | 215 lbs | ATH O'Gorman | 2025 State SD having total combine yardage of over 300 with that just coming on 10 catches, showing how their offensive attack was clicking just about on cylinders. Maverick Jones Maverick Jones 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Sioux Falls O'Gorman | 2024 State SD had a solid run game for the Knights totaling just around 100 yards and a touchdown. At the half, the Knights did hold a 20 to 12 lead over the Tea Titans and the second half is where we see that some Tea players had come to play and showed that they wanted to win more than anyone else on the field. The Knights’ offense is truly where they shined where they had around 530 yards in total offense throughout the game but the game up short yet their defense had performers on the defense that showed up to play too. Gabe Tschetter Gabe Tschetter 6'1" | 185 lbs | LB Sioux Falls O'Gorman | 2023 State was locked down as usual with his defense performance with him showing that he could be anywhere on the field at any given time and showing that wanted to play even when the game might be out of reach. The Knights will need to put this loss in the back of their mind as they move on the next week to keep their season going with the dominance that they have shown.
Tea was simply on another level this game and this was huge in terms of momentum for them as the season goes on but they cannot let it be something they are banking on and need to match this level of production. Tea won a hard-fought game with a final score of 44-41 and that was on top of a fourth-quarter comeback that showed their motor. The rushing attack was the key to the game for the Titans as they had a total of 300 yards rushing and showed why the ground attack matters when it comes to grinding out games. Blake Thompson Blake Thompson 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Tea Area | 2023 State , Chase Van Tol Chase Van Tol 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB Tea Area | 2023 State , and Keegan DeYoung were running all over anyone that came in their way this game and it was truly a show to watch. Van Tol sealed the game with some trickery with an 80-yard passing touchdown and a pitch back to him where he launched and secured the W for the Titans as they roll into next week. The defense was also up to the task of slowing down the Knights’ offense which is known to get into shoot outs and their defensive backs tallied two picks with that being key to making Dannenbring lose chances to score.
This was the game of the year so far and those who had the chance to see it like me know that this was playoff-quality of football in September, something that all of us love to see and how hard these kids are playing with the talent that they have.
