Highlights
Kemp was a dominant force at the line of scrimmage, and With one of the highest motors in the state, Kemp was highly active and seemed to be involved in every snap. He used his elite upper body strength to easily work through blocks, stand opposing linemen up, and take on double teams consistently. Kemp also occasionally shows short burst and shoot the gap or get the jump on a speed rush which diversifies his attack. Look for Kemp to continue to be a bright spot in the North Alabama area and a factor in the 2023 class.
Yves Ponder
Yves Ponder
Ponder is an old-school linebacker who can be an enforcer in the run and cover the second level with toughness. He does a great job minimizing false steps and getting downhill quickly. This reaction time makes him enables him to always be near the ball in some capacity and generate tackles at a high rate. Though he flows well, Ponder shows good gap discipline and plays to his assignment. He also showed versatility when engaging with blockers. He can get physical and shred blocks or keep himself clean with quick sidesteps or finesse moves. With this impressive performance, Ponder could climb his way into being one of the better linebackers in the state. While being top five in total tackles in the state, Ponder is undoubtedly making noise.
Godwin faired well despite being one of the smaller guys on the field and used his IQ to overcome his lack of size in the matchup against Cullman. He showed extremely quick reaction time at the line of scrimmage and showed great route recognition -beating receivers to the spot on multiple occasions. When in phase, he used the sideline as an extra defender and seemed in his pocket whenever the ball was thrown his way. In the run game, he shows toughness and a willingness to tackle. Got downhill against screens and perimeter runs and did well getting off of blocking receivers. Though Goodwin doesn’t have prototypical size, the skill level and toughness are there to succeed at the next level as a solid nickel corner and frequent playmaker.

Tytan Rich
Rich is an old-school linebacker that will read, react, and get to the ball. Shows excellent discipline and doesnt fall for eye candy. Rich shows great form when tackling and isn’t going to miss out on opportunities. When runs are bounced to the outside, he takes excellent angles and is just fast enough to cover ground when needed. Though he lacks size, Rich has the fundamentals, IQ, and toughness to be an impactful linebacker and lead a defensive unit.
