In today’s article, we look at a wide receiver in Houston who has Division 1 potential, and a stellar offensive lineman in Lewisville looking to add to his list of offers.
WR Arbrie Carter – 5’10″ 175 / Jersey Village HS — @Arbrie_Carter
I recently heard a Division 1 head coach say that the biggest weakness of his offense was that they weren’t explosive enough at wideout. It got me to thinking how, in today’s game, you need to be able to score in bunches. Arbrie Carter is a slot receiver who can help an offense do just that.
He is a senior wideout for the Falcons – a true gem who is still waiting for his first offer. He’s dangerous off the line and can easily make safeties miss in the open field. He’s not just a deep threat though; his willingness to work the middle of the field also makes him a reliable red zone threat. Some schools may shy away from him due to his size, but that would be a mistake. The soon-to-be college freshman has a chance to become an All-Conference player at the next level.
DE Greydon Grimes – 6’6″ 235 / China Spring HS — @GreydonGrimes
Make the drive to China Spring, a small town about 20 minutes from Waco, and you will find a star-in-the-making Class of ’24 prospect in defensive end Greydon Grimes. The centerpiece of the Cougars’ defense is drawing a lot of interest as his junior season picks up steam. He’s quick out of the gate, has the ability to disengage, and when lined up at tight end, is a tenacious run blocker. China Spring is a perennial powerhouse, so Grimes certainly knows how to win.
Drawing a lot of FBS interest. No offers yet.
LB Brandon Joseph Brandon Joseph 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Dekaney | 2023 State TX – 6’2″ 215 / Dekaney HS — @BrandonJoseph
Joseph is a banger between the tackles who has two sacks on the season, so far. Does a little bit of everything for the Wildcats, but his college future is surely at linebacker. Does a nice job of shedding blocks and getting through traffic to make plays and is always around the football. The sideline-to-sideline speed is impressive, and I think he’ll find a home as a middle ‘backer on the next level.
Currently has an FCS offer from Texas Southern.
OL Devin Love – 6’4″ 305 / Lewisville HS — @DevinDLove05
Love is a versatile lineman who can play either Guard or Tackle. He excels in the run game as a puller, and he consistently wins one-on-one matchups. Has a mean streak that you like to see, and is the type of prospect who is only going to get better as the season goes along. I would like to see him be more aggressive at the point of attack, but there’s no denying the talent.
Currently has offers from North Texas, Alcorn State, and Alabama State.
