Below, we have listed each of the teams with Georgia’s 7A, Region 1, as we feel that this is one of the more talented regions in the state, with the potential to have some of the best match-ups that the state has to offer.
Colquitt County
As many could imagine, we expect Colquitt High School to finish at the top of their region next year for plenty of reasons. Not only are they simply the most talented team in the region, but they seem to be very well coached, and to have a deep level of depth. This goes a long way down the stretch, especially as teams begin to become banged up, and fatigued. Specifically, players such as

, and A’Marius Pace, all seem to be players that will stand out next season while also being able to take their team to the next level. They match up with each of the talented teams in their region better than anyone else, and they have more continuity on both sides of the ball than any team listed below. Expect them to make a huge splash next year, and for

to take a huge step as the team’s QB.
Valdosta
Wildcats fans may not like to hear this, but I believe that Valdosta has a good chance of finishing second in their region this upcoming season. While they have enough talent to make a run at coming in first, I do not believe that the consistency across the board for them is there enough to compete, and win head to head against a program like Colquitt, who will be returning plenty of star power at plenty of key positions, especially on offense. The question is, how well will they be able to match up with Colquitt, and how would they be able to stop their consistent onslaught of talent all around the board. When it comes to Valdosta themselves, we feel that they are as talented as ever, and can capitalize on what can be expected to be a down year from Lowndes. This season, the Wildcats will be returning plenty of stars, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but look for players such as Joseph Gardner, and Charles Williams to be able to stop up for their team on offense.
Lowndes
While Lowndes has had plenty of well deserved success the past few years, we also recognize that plenty of the reasons behind these wins happened to be the players who have gone on to play at college programs. While this is not to discredit any of their returning players, it should be noted that they just graduated very special players. Nevertheless, they will be back in the hunt next year, but we unfortunately feel that they will fall short to Valdosta, and Colquitt, putting them in 3rd place in the region by the time the season is over. Not only do we believe this is the case due to the way they match up against these rivaled programs, but due to the continuity of each side of the ball for them compared to other teams. Nevertheless, if they managed to perform better than expected next season, it will be a pleasant surprise, and we expect players such as

Camden County
As a whole, Camden County happens to be a very talented program, who tends to pump out solid talent year after year. Within the past few years, they have seen a little less success than they are used to, but players such as Deonte Cole, Jake Lindsey, and

still exist, and display their own fair share of success for their program. This level of talent is good enough to stand toe to toe with some of the better teams in the region, but ultimately, due to their lack of depth at each position when compared to their competition, they are expected to fall a little short. Next season, look for them to come in 4th place, but to do so with a fight to whoever finishes third, especially if it is a team like Lowndes.
Richmond Hill
In recent years, Richmond Hill has produced some fine talent, but unfortunately, the team has been unable to put it all together like other programs. While they may get a win or 2 in their region, they are simply not as talented, or well coached to beat the likes of Colquitt, or Valdosta. Nevertheless, they have still competed in plenty of games, especially due to talented players on their roster such as Ben Hethcoat, Zion Gillard, and Ravon Grant. While we have them finishing last in their region next year, we expect them to go out with a bang, losing, and winning close games.
