Week 2 Defensive Playmakers – Charlotte Metro Area

He had 4 sacks in the Knights victory over Cuthbertson - he has long been one of my favorite players because of his ability to shut the run game down to his side and still be a very effective pass rusher. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='429230' first='Jay' last='Jackson'] - North Stanly - This 2024 prospect had a great game in multiple ways as he had a Pick 6 from his linebacker position, two forced fumbles, 50 yards rushing on offense, and a 2-point conversion in his team's victory. At 6'1 and 225 pounds, he shows he can be valuable on either side of the ball and should start gaining college interest if these performances continue. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='680331' first='Tyquan' last='Rankin'] - Butler - The Bulldogs are off to a 2-0 start and Tyquan is a big reason why. This week at Richmond County he had 10 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and an interception. Rankin at 5'10 and 210 pounds may project to a SS/Rover on the next level but right now he is a dominant 2024 prospect for this Bulldogs defense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1205741' first='Jack' last='Smith'] - Pine Lake - A program you don't hear mentioned much, Pine Lake had a big win over Thomas Jefferson this past week, and this 2025 prospect had a monster game. Smith had 9 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 2 hurries in the victory. At 6'2 and 245 pounds, Smith will definitely be someone we keep an eye on moving forward. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
