Week 1 QB Spotlight

Taylor's accuracy was on full display completing 13-15 for 200 yards, and 2 touchdowns with a QB rating of 138.2. He also showed off his rushing ability with 5 carries for 70 yards and a long run of 35 yards. The freshman was locked in spraying the ball all over the field going 14-17 for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns! Reads the field really well for such a young quarterback, displays good mechanics, and the ability to throw with accuracy and touch at all three levels of the field. Last Friday he helped the Wildcats get off to a dominant start with a 42-2 win over Hallandale. In that game he went 22-35 for 233 yd, completed 63% of his passes with 4 touchdown passes! Lawrence is an accurate quarterback that is extremely smart on and off the field (4.81 GPA), does a good job standing in the pocket and delivering strikes, his intelligence allows him to processes coverages quickly. He was a playmaker in that game going 13-20 for 258 yd and 4 touchdowns through the air; while also leading the team with 82 yards rushing and one rushing touchdown. Smith is a high level quarterback with athleticism and does a good job throwing with accuracy and ball placement, flashes the ability to look off defenders and come back the other way, can beat you with his arms or legs.
