Below, we have listed some of the more exciting matchups to look forward to going into next season, as they include some of the more promising, or talent-filled teams that the state has to offer. Feel free to dive into the rosters for each of these teams as well, as a way to prepare for this upcoming season.
Hough at Dutch Fork
To kick off the season, Hough, and Dutch Fork will be playing each other in one of the more even games that each team will participate in all season. Not only do they match up well talent wise, but the coaching on both sidelines, matched with the production of both sides of the ball for each team, makes for some highly anticipated, and fun football. For reference, Hough finished last season with a 14-1 record, with their only loss coming in the playoffs, and Dutch Fork had a 12-1 record, with their season ending in the playoffs as well. Because of this, we feel that they will be neck to neck throughout the duration of the game, and that players such as Ted Hudson, Isaac Walker,

, Aliam Appler, Jarvis Green, Akele Paulding, and Chandler Perry will all shine, and begin what will likely be a successful season for each of them.
Mallard Creek at Myers Park
Even though each of these teams did not have the most impressive record last season, due to the name of their programs alone, this game should be a fun one to witness. Not only does each team return its fair share of starters and talented players from last season, but each team will be fighting to start off the 2022 season on a good note, proving to themselves that they can be better than they were last season. For example, Mallard Creek finished last season with a 6-5 record, while Myers Park finished 2-10, despite having a promising group of players on the roster. Nevertheless, as the season begins soon, everything will be starting new, providing more opportunities for wins, and potential playoff runs.
Weddington at Charlotte Christian
While the difference in record from last season may be a brief indicator of what is to be expected in this matchup, we are not completely ruling out any success that Charlotte Christian may have, especially due to the fact that they have plenty of young, and developmental talent that could step up to the plate, and compete with Weddington. Nevertheless, we also do not want to dismiss the level of talent that Weddington will be returning, as players such as Caleb Hill, Quaid Luginbill, Kobe McGill, and

will all be returning next year. This will more than likely offer them stability on both sides of the ball, and the firepower necessary to win not only this game if they play their cards right, but other games as the season goes by. Also expect Weddington to find a way to come out of this game, and put up plenty of wins as the season progresses.
Marvin Ridge at Monroe
What makes the matchup between Marvin Ridge and Monroe even more anticipated is the fact that both teams had a record of 8 wins last season. While they are very much evenly matched in talent, Marvin Ridge came out on top following their game against Monroe last season. Regardless, it is a new season this year, and Monroe will have an opportunity to avenge their loss from last season, and start their season strong before entering into regional play. Monroe had a solid season last year, managing to win their region, and we expect them to return in similar fashion this year, especially if they can find a way to beat their competition down in Waxhaw.
