Welcome to Week 2! Week 1 had its usual fireworks with the huge non-league matchups, and this week will be no different. Today we have 4 insanely good matchups that should all have playoff implications. Oh, and they all happen to be non-league matchups too!

Muskegon @ De La Salle

The #1 Game to watch in the Detroit area, an amazing Muskegon team travels to face an elite De La Salle team.

Muskegon won a close matchup against East Kentwood last week, and they have a plethora of college talent to showcase in metro Detroit no less, which naturally gets more scout eyes than the Grand Rapids area. Even though DLS will be favored, this is an incredible opportunity for Muskegon to show the Detroit Area what they're all about. [player_tooltip player_id='253304' first='M'khi' last='Guy'], [player_tooltip player_id='253307' first='Miguel' last='Botello'], [player_tooltip player_id='253306' first='Karl' last='Brooks'], and many others have a ton to prove in this matchup.

De La Salle performed well in week 1, getting off to a slow start but stepping on the gas winning 41-13 against Detroit Renaissance. This will be one of, if not the most challenging matchup of the season for the Pilots, and this is going to be a great matchup. I'm especially excited to see [player_tooltip player_id='226712' first='Mason' last='Muragin'] and the DLS front 7 face the Muskegon offensive line.

Berkley @ Athens

There are two gritty OAA teams that I expect to have good seasons.

Athens just beat a solid Fraser team, led by a strong rushing attack. I expect the ball to be in [player_tooltip player_id='427719' first='Nick' last='Ashor']'s hands quite a bit in this one.

Berkley on the other hand just suffered a surprising steamroll loss against Milan, losing 47-0. This loss worries me slightly, but I do expect [player_tooltip player_id='216984' first='Sunny' last='Kadlitz'], [player_tooltip player_id='300658' first='Savod' last='Daniels'], and [player_tooltip player_id='407335' first='David' last='Rolands'] to put on an offensive show.

Catholic Central @ Davison

Both of these teams are expected to be among the best in the state, and they're both coming off stiff Week 1 competition. Both teams are known for their starpower on defense.

Catholic Central lost a close one to Chippewa Valley 16-20. This team has an impressive front 7 led by Baechler Houser and [player_tooltip player_id='30334' first='Brayden' last='Courser']. In general, this team is stacked with great seniors who can take this team far. It's an exciting time to be a CC fan, but you have to hope they win the close ones, because there might be a lot of those with their difficult schedule.

Davison put on a show against Clarkston, defeating them 28-20 at The Big House. Like CC, Davison is known for their front 7 led by [player_tooltip player_id='80934' first='Carter' last='Herriman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='80935' first='Tyler' last='Dosh']. I give Davison the slight edge in this one just because of home field advantage, and whoever wins this game is going to gain massive playoff points.

Roseville @ Romeo

The best MAC Red matchup this week, Roseville travels to Romeo in what looks to be another defensive showdown.

Roseville has a great defense with [player_tooltip player_id='162652' first='Amare' last='Snowden'], [player_tooltip player_id='243408' first='Dezzmon' last='Meriwether'], Corey Cobb Jr, [player_tooltip player_id='188043' first='Huston' last='Eubank'], and others. This is a team that only gave up 54 points all of last regular season, and a team I expect to play great defense this season.

Romeo seem to have successfully reloaded once more, and again with an elite defense. [player_tooltip player_id='248788' first='Ryan' last='Relyea'], [player_tooltip player_id='275079' first='Anthony' last='Lomakoski'], and [player_tooltip player_id='248789' first='Victor' last='Earl'] make up what I think is the best LB core in Michigan, and you can always count on the bulldog secondary to be great.
