Virginia 6A Pre-Season Team Rankings: 6-10

<p>The 2022 Football season is upon us. High Schools from all around the state are now starting to practice and will take the field for their first official games in a couple of weeks. We are listing the top programs in the state and identifying the players within them. Here are the Virginia 6A Preseason State Rankings </p>   <p></p>   <h2>6. Manchester High School</h2>   <p>2021 Season Record: 7-3</p>   <p>The Lancers finished 7-3 and lost in the 2nd Round of the State Playoffs to Western Branch by 2 points. The offense scored 39.9 points per game and returns WR [player_tooltip player_id='185470' first='Eric' last='Smith'], OL [player_tooltip player_id='363126' first='Kenny' last='Walz'], WR/ DB [player_tooltip player_id='369344' first='Tyee' last='Stephens'], and Ath [player_tooltip player_id='363137' first='Justice' last='Thompson']. Stephens and Thompson can play on both sides of the ball and will be joined by DL [player_tooltip player_id='293571' first='Makai' last='Byerson'] who all return to a defense that didn't allow more than 1 touchdowns in all but 4 of their games. </p>   <p></p>   <h2>7. Freedom High School </h2>   <p>2021 Season Record: 10-3</p>   <p>The Eagles went 10-3 last season and made it to the State Quarterfinals before losing to Battlefield. Freedom had one of the top offenses in the state last year and averaged 48.2 points per game. RB [player_tooltip player_id='313738' first='Jeffrey' last='Overton'] Jr and WR Kameron Courtney are two of the teams top returning starters who look to duplicate that offensive production. DB Kendall Bannister and DB [player_tooltip player_id='295791' first='Jachai' last='Hughes'] will lead a defense that gave up an average of less than 14 points per game. </p>   <p></p>   <h2>8. South County High School </h2>   <p>2021 Season Record: 11-3</p>   <p>South County made it all the way to the State Semifinals last season and finished with a record of 11-3. QB [player_tooltip player_id='157098' first='Jordan' last='Dennis'] returns and is one of the state's Top Quarterbacks. He led the Stallions offense to an average 32.2 point per game, putting up "video game like" numbers on both the ground and air. </p>   <p></p>   <h2>9. Thomas Dale High School </h2>   <p>2021 Season Record: 6-3</p>   <p>Thomas Dale had a successful season, but was bounced prematurely in the First Round of the State Playoffs after lose to James River by 2 points. QB [player_tooltip player_id='157090' first='Ethan' last='Minter'] returns to an offense that averaged 31.1 points per game. Twin athletes will Jon and [player_tooltip player_id='293582' first='Nick' last='Tyree'] will be a force on both sides of the the ball, along with DB [player_tooltip player_id='128263' first='Stephon' last='Hicks']. </p>   <p></p>   <h2>10. Lake Braddock High School</h2>   <p>2021 Season Record: 9-3</p>   <p>The Bruins were eliminated in the 2nd Round of the State Playoffs by West Potomac, but return the state's Top Ranked Quarterback, [player_tooltip player_id='290136' first='Daniel' last='Lipovski']. The Senior signal caller is joined by Athletes Dejaun Lawrence Jr and [player_tooltip player_id='291543' first='Jalen' last='Thomas Walker'] who return to an offense that averaged 34.2 points per game, and are also key contributors on the defensive side of the ball. </p>   <p></p>   <p><strong>Other Teams To Watch: Robinson, Unity Reed, West Potomac, Patriot</strong></p>
