Chargualaf transferred from Steele Canyon to Lincoln for his senior season. He’s an extremely physical player in the secondary from his SS spot that seeks out ball-carriers and flies to the football. He works fast downhill to close ground and delivers strong contact in space. He’s a playmaker in coverage that can flip the hips and cover over-the-top showing explosive burst out of his breaks. Chargualaf picked up offers from Colorado, Grambling St., and Utah Tech in May and now joins fellow D-I prospects Hunter Wiggins Hunter Wiggins 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Lincoln | 2023 State CA and Josiah Cox Josiah Cox 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Lincoln | 2023 State CA in the Lincoln secondary.
Highlights
Durham’s one of the most underrated safeties without an offer in Orange County. He’s an aggressive downhill hitter from his S spot with an athletic frame at 6’/195. He shows fluid movement in coverage with quick hips and short-area burst. He’s a disruptive player in zone coverage at the second and third levels showing timing and physicality generating PBUs. Durham is an FCS-caliber player that could generate interest from West Coast programs as a senior.
Overstreet creates turnovers from his safety spot with great instincts and ball-skills in coverage. He’s a rangy tackler that can close space quickly and is physical at the POA. He made plays in shallow and deep coverage flashing compact breaks and fast reactions to the ball. His size (5’10″/175) and coverage skillset could translate to safety or nickel at the next level. Overstreet’s recruitment should benefit from playing on a loaded championship defense that includes D-I prospects Tre Edwards Tre Edwards 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Mater Dei Catholic | 2023 State CA , Anthony McMillian Anthony McMillian 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Mater Dei Catholic | 2024 State CA , and Isaiah Buxton Isaiah Buxton 6'0" | 150 lbs | DB Mater Dei Catholic | 2024 State CA .
Joseph Matthews
Joseph Matthews
Matthews will be a senior leader in Oceanside’s secondary this season. He’s an active tackler near the LOS that can fill the box and provide reliable run support. He plays well with his eyes, flashing instincts and timing in coverage. He operates well in tight spaces and has the range to track down ball-carries out wide. He offers versatility in passing situations with ability to blitz off the edge or cover man over the slot. Matthews is one of the top unoffered safeties in San Diego.
Carter Boskovich
Carter Boskovich
Boskovich was one of the leading tacklers in Mission Viejo’s secondary as a junior last season. He’s an active tackler from his S spot that offers a physical presence in the run game at the second level. He can shed blocks on the edge and make plays in the screen game using field leverage. Boskovich picked up his first offers from Grinnell College, Benedictine College, and Whittier over the summer.
