5. [player_tooltip player_id="145193" first="Evan" last="Tomich"], Mayfair

Tomich has good numbers from last season on MaxPreps but I have been told by multiple people that his stats are not complete and they are even better. He was named the QB MVP at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase in January and there was a sizable gap between him and the second best quarterback. Houston, Oregon State, Kansas, Middle Tennessee State and UNLV have all offered him and there will be more to come.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="25366" first="Aidan" last="Chiles"], Downey

Chiles has been injury-plagued but when he is healthy his upside is as high as anyone. He is 6-foot-4 and has packed on muscle up to 200 pounds. He threw for 10 touchdowns and just two interceptions in six games last season for Downey before suffering a season-ending injury. He also ran for over 10 yards per carry. Chiles is verbally committed to Oregon State.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="25367" first="Pierce" last="Clarkson"], St. John Bosco

After two seasons of sharing reps with Michigan State quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="25273" first="Katin" last="Houser"], Clarkson will get his opportunity to play every snap at quarterback for the Braves. He managed to throw for 1,416 yards, 16 touchdowns and only three interceptions in 11 games despite sharing playing time. He has been one of the top four quarterbacks in the state all offseason and has performed well at various showcases. Clarkson is committed to Louisville and has convinced several local Louisville commits to transfer to Bosco to help him out.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="25390" first="Nico" last="Iamaleava"], Warren

Nico returns to Warren after a summer stint at Long Beach Poly. He is a real five-star recruit and stellar athlete who could easily play volleyball at the college level. The 6-foot-6 signal-caller threw for 2,244 yards, 33 touchdowns and just one interception. He hasn't been seen much this offseason because he was playing volleyball, but he was a star at the Rivals camp in March. Iamaleava is committed to Tennessee.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="25419" first="Malachi" last="Nelson"], Los Alamitos

Nelson is the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation by ESPN and the top quarterback in the nation by 247Sports. He was committed to Oklahoma but followed head coach Lincoln Riley to USC and has been helping convince other recruits to join the Trojans. He has the most fluid throwing motion of any high school quarterback I have seen in many years. He threw for 2,690 yards, 39 touchdowns and eight interceptions last season. He lost some receiving weapons and may have to rely on some younger guys, but he has the talent to lead Los Alamitos to another Division 1 playoff appearance.
