Tyrell Lafferty Tyrell Lafferty 6’3″ | 210 lbs | DL Sioux City West | 2023 IA a 6-3 (210) senior OLB/DE from Sioux City West has a great physique that makes him a hybrid athlete at the DE spot. Lafferty is coming off a (24.5) tackle performance as a junior to go with (4) TFL. Lafferty moves really well in space and takes good pursuit angles to the football. Lafferty is hard to block due to his length and use of his hands. The Wolverines will move Lafferty around this fall across the defensive formation and try to free him up to make needed tackles in space. Head Coach Brandon Holmes likes the athleticism he brings to the defense. “Lafferty is a key piece to our defense and if we can keep him unblocked or if he sheds blockers his production will go up to the next level,” stated head coach Holmes. Great potential here to play at the next level.

Brady Wavrunek Brady Wavrunek 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Sioux City East | 2023 State IA a 5-11 (200) RB/LB from Sioux City East is one of (9) starters returning on defense. With a Division I commitment at DE and a legitimate D2 prospect at DT Wavrunek should excel from his LB spot this fall. Wavrunek registered (57.5) last fall and (7.5) TFL. Wavrunek runs well at LB and has no problem filling the hole up front which displays his effort inside the tackle box. Wavrunek is a hard hitter and gives max effort on defense. Wavrunek is simply a throwback football player. Tough, gritty and heart describes Wavrunek well, he has a current offer from Morningside University and more schools are showing interest. Look for a solid 2023 senior film here to evaluate.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton senior Tylar Lutgen Tylar Lutgen 6’2″ | 210 lbs | DL Sergeant Bluff-Luton | 2023 IA 6-2 (210) DL is a skilled athlete that excels in track (discus) state qualifier and baseball 1st team all-conference as well. Lutgen racked up (33.5) tackles as a junior to go with (15.5) TFL. Lutgen is difficult to block one on one so he is able to really cause problems for the opponents offensive line as he has good speed coming off the edge. Lutgen may draw a little more attention this fall from opposing offensive coordinators but is still skilled enough to make plays in the offensive backfield. Lutgen is set for a big season for a Warrior team that is a consistent playoff qualifier. Lutgen has visited Northern State University as well as Wayne State College and Drake University.
